Katsumata(71), the chairman of Tepco is going to resign on the shareholder meeting day of June.
Nuclear Damage Liability Facilitation Fund, which consists of Japanese government and all the power companies in Japan is going to capitalize Tepco for 1 trillion yen after the shareholder meeting day of June in order not to have it go bankrupt because of the cost to abandon nuclear power plants.
His responsibility is supposed to be shown by resigning.

政府は、東京電力に公的資本を注入するのに伴い、同社の勝俣恒久会長（７１）を退任させ、後任を外部から選ぶ方針を固めた。民間出身者を軸に調整しており、企業経営者への接触を始めた。ただ、電気料金の値上げや原発事故の処理など、難問が山積。人選は難航する可能性がある。
政府や電力各社でつくる原子力損害賠償支援機構は、６月の株主総会後、東電に１兆円規模で出資する方針。東電が福島第一原発の廃炉費用などの負担に耐えきれず、経営破綻（はたん）するのを避けるためだ。破綻した場合、事故の損害賠償や電力供給に支障が出るおそれがある。
機構と東電は３月、同社の将来像を示す「総合特別事業計画」をつくる。その中に機構による資本注入の方針を盛り込む一方、勝俣氏が退任を表明し、経営責任を明確にする方向だ。退任の時期は、６月の株主総会日になる見通し。
