Numerous sardines washed ashore in Pacific coastal area of Hokkaido – Photos

On 11/3/2014, numerous sardines were found washed ashore in Pacific coastal area of Hokkaido. A fisherman found it around 6AM of the day.

 

The location was Mukawa-cho in Hokkaido. The dead sardines were approx. 15 ~ 20cm long, which have grown up. They were found washed ashore for 4km along the coast.

The local fishermen state they have been fishing there for 60 years but haven’t seen such a thing.

 

Hokkaido fisheries experiment station comment it might be due to the storm one night before, but the exact cause is not identified.

On the other hand, local citizen commented on Twitter that that kind of storm was nothing rare, can happen quite often.

Des quantités de sardines mortes drossées sur la plage de la côte Pacifique d’Hokkaido – Photos

 

Le 3 novembre 2014, de nombreuses sardines ont été drossées sur la côte Pacifique de la région d’Hokkaido. Un pêcheur les a découvertes ce jour-là vers 06:00.

C’était à Mukawa-cho sur Hokkaido. les cadavres de sardines faisaient entre 15 et 20 cm de long, des adultes. Elles tapissaient le rivage sur 4 km de longueur.
Le pêcheur local affirme qu’il pêche là depuis 60 ans et qu’il n’avait jamais vu un truc pareil.

La station de recherche des pêcheries d’Hokkaido déclare que c’est peut-être du à l’orage de la veille mais la raison exacte n’est pas établie.
D’un autre côté, les habitants ont déclaré sur Twitter que ce genre d’orage était tout sauf rare, qu’il y en a assez souvent.

Actually, nothing has progressed in the plant since 2011. We still don't even know what is going on inside. They must keep cooling the crippled reactors by water, but additionally groundwater keeps flowing into the reactor buildings from the broken parts. This is why highly contaminated water is always produced more than it can circulate. Tepco is planning to officially discharge this water to the Pacific but Tritium is still remaining in it. They dilute this with seawater so that it is legally safe, but scientifically the same amount of radioactive tritium is contained. They say it is safe to discharge, but none of them have drunk it.
