[Column] The turning point can be expected to the next Spring

Probably this is what Japanese government is thinking,

Millions or even more people may die of cancers and any other radiation related symptoms, but none of the connection with Fukushima accident shall be admitted so compensation money can be minimized, national budget will not be wasted.
By breeding people who haven’t die, or accept more immigration, Japan shall take the way it has always taken with nothing to change.
From what they have been doing since 311, they have no intention to compensate / protect people most likely. Whether it’s to keep their tax income or employment, local governments do never take proper measures and keep selling food. Japanese government doesn’t want to take care of them, so they let local governments do whatever they want to do.
In this scheme, people are only the machine to work, consume, regenerate itself and pay tax.

Fukushima Diary has been reporting plant / animal mutation since last year regardless of the endless criticism to say “It’s not scientific.”.
Since the science magazine Nature featured mutated butterfly this August, Fukushima Diary has been receiving less criticism, but the mutation case keeps increasing.
In Autumn, flowers were reported to bloom out of the season. and now, when most of the plants wither, more and more albino creatures are reported.
It’s unusual amount albino reports. If it’s just one, you can say it’s just a coincidence. However, this is not negligible.

After Chernobyl, significant increase of albino sparrow was observed.
However, I can tell Japan is not following the path of Chernobyl because it’s not settled unlike Chernobyl.
Chernobyl was settled a few months after the accident but Fukushima is still on the go. and it’s 4 reactors where it was just one in Chernobyl.

Nobody’s sure about how many people died because of Chernobyl accident, but Fukushima victims will be more than that. I’m afraid of seeing plants next Spring.

Japan is going to have an election on 12/16. However, it’s only a handful of people to be aware of the political problems, such as rising fascism, underestimate of basic human rights, potential war etc..
Realistically, they can’t change Japan by 12/16, it’s too soon. Not to mention, none of the candidates even talk about Fukushima effect.
In Japan, political sector has been weak, but mass media sector has been covering it. After 311, their credibility was slightly damaged but because people still want to dream a dream, massmedia is demanded to deceive them. Still most of the people are happily putting their heads in sand.
Through the election, LDP and other political parties will get assembled and the power will be concentrated.
Japanese politician historically tend to resign after deciding something significant. The potential prime minister may resign after changing Japanese constitution.

I personally thought this election would be next Spring, but it came ahead of the schedule.
Japan has a long new years holiday. The Spring after the holiday season, we may see the biological and political change in Japan.

  1. By breeding people who haven’t die, or accept more immigration, Japan shall take the way it has always taken with nothing to change.

Post radiation accident expect human fertility to decline severely.
I will also be very surprised if Japan increases immigration.

  2. Very wise observation Lori.

Heads in the sand fits perfectly.

It’s really sad living here watching all the mothers continue to buy fish, and vegetables from Nagoya. It’s kind of ironic, yours and mine situation. I left the US because of the wars and governement. Not sure if I wanna go back. Keep going Lori, while I go get the shovel.

  3. Not only will fertility decline, it could plummet to zero; the healthy children could easily decline, like Belarus, from 90% before the nuclear catastrophe to 20% and to 6% and to ZERO also more rapidly than in Belarus. After all, the contamination is much higher! THREE MELTDOWNS! Evacuation of the worst areas have not taken place relative to contamination levels – much greater than Chernobyl. Plus the incineration spreads contamination further. The Ongoing leaking into the Pacific is going to be a decades long disaster for all the world.

The following disaster of human fertility has not been considered, the genomic instability that produces a MORE ‘radiosensitive’ population for 22 generations… combined with plummeting fertility and rising disabilities… that could be the end of Japan – it could be the end of the Japanese environment as well, insects, microbiota, crops, animals — and it could also be the end of all of us globally.

After Chernobyl, cesium did not behave as was theoretically believed would happen. Many things have become what we were told would not happen. Thanks to the many scientists who have preserved the truth for us. And thank you, Iori-san for getting the truth out again and again, into and out of Japan.

I also ask anyone reading this to consider making monthly contributions to Fukushima Diary so Iori-san can keep up his good works without worry for his very survival. Tis the season for giving, Peace.

  4. If they can’t talk about it then they and the country is DEAD. Have a nice life,,, for japan its too late to grow up.

  5. I keep wondering how the Powers That Be in Japan can ignore reality. Not only are they ignoring the plain truth they are verbally attacking those who see these truths. Is it television? After all TV can take the most childish fantasy and make it look like reality. But people have clung to non-reality since there have been people. How many wars have been started while the people who started them thought the war would last about three months? The Powers That Be in Japan are committing heinous crimes against the Japanese people and indeed against all of humanity. Their denial of the truth dose not free them of their guilt. The laws of humankind may not catch up with them in this lifetime but the natural laws of Karma will. Unfortunately it will not protect those who are condemned to unnecessary suffering.

About this site

This website updates the latest news about the Fukushima nuclear plant and also archives the past news from 2011. Because it's always updated and added live, articles, categories and the tags are not necessarily fitted in the latest format.
I am the writer of this website. About page remains in 2014. This is because my memory about 311 was clearer than now, 2023, and I think it can have a historical value. Now I'm living in Romania with 3 cats as an independent data scientist.
Actually, nothing has progressed in the plant since 2011. We still don't even know what is going on inside. They must keep cooling the crippled reactors by water, but additionally groundwater keeps flowing into the reactor buildings from the broken parts. This is why highly contaminated water is always produced more than it can circulate. Tepco is planning to officially discharge this water to the Pacific but Tritium is still remaining in it. They dilute this with seawater so that it is legally safe, but scientifically the same amount of radioactive tritium is contained. They say it is safe to discharge, but none of them have drunk it.
