    Tepco a fini de retirer les décombres de la SFP4 (piscine à combustibles usagés). Maintenant le PCV (Enceinte de confinement primaire) et la SFP4 sout complètement à l’air libre.

    I’d like to hear how they are going to do that.

    1. It will most likely be a crane that pick up the assembly and drops it in a special tanker truck… Perhaps a modified dump truck that can hold water would be all they needed. It has an open top and a bed that is at least 12-13 ft in length. The unused fuel is not nearly radioactive as the spent fuel. The amount of time needed to extract the assembly Should be less than 1 hour, even if somehow it was irradiated with some stray neutrinos it wont be exposed to the air long enough to ignite. Unless there is a catastrophic crane failure lol we should ask if they have a backup on site I bet they won’t. Some people will never learn to do things the right way for the right reasons.

  4. look, I have photos of SFP4 in the top part of reactor 4 building from last year – IT IS GONE.. Spent Fuel Pool Four is no longer part of the building. We can clearly see the top of the reactor (big yellow dome)but where is the fuel pool which should be ABOVE the reactor ???

    Where is SFP 4 ??

    1. The Spent Fuel Pool is under the steel structure on picture 3.

      The cap of the reactor was not on the reactor as the reactor was in maintenance mode with no fuel in it.
      That’s why the Spent Fuel pool is so loaded, there is a full brand new core and older assemblies.

  7. I think it got hot melted and fissioned, at least that’s what i’ve seen from jnn cam and then the correlating screaming geiger counters across the pacific starting three days after the june 29 beginning of the fission event.

    FLUORIDE IS USED TO REFINE URANIUM ORE. (ALSO PHOSPHORUS AND ALUMINUM ORE)

    LESS THAN 1% OF JAPAN POPULATION HAS FLUORIDE IN THEIR WATER SUPPLY.

    THE FLUORIDE BYPRODUCT FROM THIS PROCESS SHOULD BE STORED AS TOXIC WASTE IN A DESIGNATED TOXIC WASTE FACILITY IN BARRELS SIMILAR TO THE WAY ANY TOXIC WASTE IS STORED IN THE US.

    THE US TOOK THEIR DEPLETED URANIUM FROM NUCLEAR REACTORS AND REFINED IT INTO TANK ROUNDS WHICH WERE EXPLODED IN THE MIDDLE EAST. THIS “PROCESS” MADE IT ACCEPTABLE FOR THE NUCLEAR CORPERATIONS TO SELL THEIR DEPLETED URANIUM AS A PRODUCT AND NOT A TOXIC WASTE TO THE US ARMY.

    INSTEAD OF STORING DEPLETED URANIUM THEY SENT IT TO THE MIDDLE EAST IN THE ARMY’S TANK BULLETS.

    TEPCO MORE THAN LIKELY DOES THE SAME THING WITH FLUORIDE.

    INSTEAD OF FLUORIDE BEING CLASSIFIED AS TOXIC WASTE AND STORED AT A TOXIC WASTE FACILITY IN BARRELS, IT IS SOLD ACROSS THE WORLD AS A PUBLIC WATER
    SUPPLEMENT.

    IT IS TOO EXPENSIVE FOR TEPCO TO STORE THE AMOUNT OF FLUORIDE WASTE BYPRODUCT CREATED BY THE URANIUM ORE PROCESSING IN A TOXIC WASTE FACILITY.

    AS WE ALL KNOW, TEPCO IS ABOUT MONEY…SO LET’S MESS THAT UP FOR THEM.

    UNDER INTERNATIONAL TOXIC WASTE LAW – TEPCO WOULD BE PERMANENTLY RESPONSIBLE FOR EACH TOXIC BARREL IT CREATES FOREVER IF FLUORIDE WAS STORED THIS WAY.

  10. I found myself wondering why the new fuel assemblies would be the first to be removed.Surely the more radioactive, used fuel ought to be the priority – from a human safety perspective.Safety just does not seem to be a concern though.

    NPPs being a for-profit business, all decisions are based on the most cost-effective course.My cynical side says that the new fuel assemblies are much more valuable; they can be used at Oi, or wherever. The used fuel, however,is a huge liability,and the company seems to be at a bit of a loss on how to solve the trouble. What better way to “deal with it”, than to let nature take its course by way of earthquake, tsunami, lightening, whatever.

    I feel that the bottom dollar remains the imperative in this situation, and not the health and survival of every living plant and animal – including us – on the islands of Japan, and the rest of the world. And the police obstruct the very peaceful (so far) protests… We sit and read and write.

    My understanding is that the government of Japan – and thus, the people of Japan – is the major shareholder in Tepco now, and the Prime Minister is the CEO. It’s not a protest in Tokyo, it’s a shareholders’ meeting, and they want to talk to the CEO!

This website updates the latest news about the Fukushima nuclear plant and also archives the past news from 2011. Because it's always updated and added live, articles, categories and the tags are not necessarily fitted in the latest format.
I am the writer of this website. About page remains in 2014. This is because my memory about 311 was clearer than now, 2023, and I think it can have a historical value. Now I'm living in Romania with 3 cats as an independent data scientist.
Actually, nothing has progressed in the plant since 2011. We still don't even know what is going on inside. They must keep cooling the crippled reactors by water, but additionally groundwater keeps flowing into the reactor buildings from the broken parts. This is why highly contaminated water is always produced more than it can circulate. Tepco is planning to officially discharge this water to the Pacific but Tritium is still remaining in it. They dilute this with seawater so that it is legally safe, but scientifically the same amount of radioactive tritium is contained. They say it is safe to discharge, but none of them have drunk it.
