Breaking News: More shallow earthquakes at Fukushima plants

2 more earthquake happened. Epicenters of both earthquake are right under Fukushima plants.

1) 22:03 1/5/2012  (JST) M2.6  7.1km deep under ground.

2) 22:13 1/5/2012  (JST) M4.1   20km deep under ground. (Scale 4 in Fukushima)

The data of (1) is missing from the webpage of Japan Meteorological Agency for some reason.

There is no information about the reactors, but some people are tweeting about the situation.

先日“4号機が危ない”とメールをくれた友人から、今度は“マスクしないで外に出るな！”と言う命令文のメールが来た。Twitter始め、あちこち検索したけど確かに心配なことを書いてる人は多いけど、国や東電からの正式なものはやはり何もない。いったい…。ちなみに友人の旦那は…関係者です。

  2. My first thought was to imagine that maybe they were underground nuclear explosions in the context of the ongoing “China syndrome”, however 7 and more kilometers are too deep (I think). Is there any more exact knowledge about the depth of the first earthquake? You said “less than 10 km” but that is a wide range, I’d imagine a quake caused by a nuclear explosion to be really shallow, one kilometer under the surface or even less.

    Whatever the cause it’s clear that it will worsen an already extremely bad, horrible, situation.

  4. This has HAARP like technology written all over it.
    The “destruction” of Japan is a plan of the west elites for a long time. This type of earthquakes , in my opinion , like the one that started this fukushima nuclear crisis (11-3) … are human/technology made.

    In WW2 , Japan used the old rituals to invoke control over weather. Then , for the West (especially USA) , this type of action were a real mistery. Now , they managed to find their way to this kind of power trough technology.

  7. People like “balaur” suggesting HAARP technology is being used to destroy Japan by creating earthquakes, that seems silly to me. Why would the west want to destroy Japan ? How is Japan a current threat to the rest of the world / west ? What would be the reason to do so ? Any sane person / government would not want to destroy the planet we depend upon and live on.

    The world economy is a mess, and the largest economies are the USA, China, Japan, and the Eurozone. The world economy needs growth, not death !

    I was on an airline flight to Tokyo, and a young Japanese man next to me suggested all the safety issues and recalls that Toyota was having were fabrications of the US government. If they were fabrications, then why is there so much evidence of problems, and why did Toyota have all these recalls on their various products over the last several years ?

    Sound to me that many Japanese are blaming others for their problems. Maybe people / governments / companies around the world should take responsibility for their own actions, and stop trying to blame others that are not responsible.

    I am horrified by the suffering that the people of Japan, and the rest of the affected world, are incurring as a result of the ongoing nuclear disaster starting on 3/11/11. This could become more of a worldwide disaster than it already is if the molten nuclear fuel cores continue to migrate to groundwater and cause radioactive steam to explode out of the ground and into the atmosphere.

    I think the governments of the world should not allow nuclear reactors to be built, and should close down existing nuclear reactors ASAP near the ocean in subversion fault earthquake zones that are most likely to cause Tsunamis, like these nuclear plants were.

    All countries should re-examine their use of nuclear power to ensure it is safe to withstand earthquakes / tsunamis.

  8. I am appalled and amazed at the level of denial by almost everyone, here in America, and the complete total media blackout here in the USA. What is happening in Japan,,is a WORLD PROBLEM. Much less that
    we are allowing the Japanese people and culture die, simply by not addressing the dire situation in Japan!
    Our Government is just as guilty as the rest, not preparing, nor saving, nor helping the populace, who they wish to control to thier dying breath.
    I am SCARED for myself, and the world.
    The Japanese people must be evacuated NOW, all of them, we must take them in, whoever can.
    I am ashamed of the Japanese Government, and my own.
    What kind of riots will we all have, once the truth is out, the truth that almost all of us will get sick from radiation in our food supply.
    Not enough is being done to save the Japanese first, then work on a new clean food supply, before it all is ruined by radiation.
    ARE WE INHUMAN, WE NEED TO DEMAND NO MORE NUKES IN ANY WAY! ever!

    WE ALL NEED TO SAVE THE JAPANESE PEOPLE, THEIR GOVERNMENT IS NOT SAVING THEM, THEY ARE LYING.
    THEY ARE IN DANGER OF LOSING THIER LIVES,,,
    AN ENTIRE CULTURE WILL BE GONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This website updates the latest news about the Fukushima nuclear plant and also archives the past news from 2011. Because it's always updated and added live, articles, categories and the tags are not necessarily fitted in the latest format.
I am the writer of this website. About page remains in 2014. This is because my memory about 311 was clearer than now, 2023, and I think it can have a historical value. Now I'm living in Romania with 3 cats as an independent data scientist.
Actually, nothing has progressed in the plant since 2011. We still don't even know what is going on inside. They must keep cooling the crippled reactors by water, but additionally groundwater keeps flowing into the reactor buildings from the broken parts. This is why highly contaminated water is always produced more than it can circulate. Tepco is planning to officially discharge this water to the Pacific but Tritium is still remaining in it. They dilute this with seawater so that it is legally safe, but scientifically the same amount of radioactive tritium is contained. They say it is safe to discharge, but none of them have drunk it.
