Kitakyushu city mayor threatens a supermarket chain to arrest the founder not to sell Fukushima food

A local supermarket chain “Sunlive” [Link] is oppressed by Kitakyushu city mayor. (cf.Kitakyushu city starts incineration of disaster debris to arrest nonviolent protesters)

The son of the founder ordered his supermarket chain not to sell vegetables from north Japan, but the city mayor threatens him that he could be arrested.

His son has been suffering from pediatric cancer.

He tweeted like these below,

As the assistant professor Koide from Kyoto university says “it is not 100% safe”, I gave my supermarket chain the order not to sell vegetables from North Japan. This is the same as “we should avoid disaster debris because it may increase pediatric cancer”. However, government office such as public health center came to our head office to oppress.

Kitahashi states “harmful rumor can be a criminal case”, but it is the case that false rumor financially damages someone’s business. However, it is the reality that Fukushima vegetable is contaminated substance, so it’s not the false rumor.

Kitahashi, Kitakyushu mayor repeats threatening acts, such as commenting they can arrest citizens for spreading harmful rumor, and on the other hand, imposes the contaminated substance on citizens. He shall caution himself.

  1. such a threat should be illegal>.>i say good for the super markets not trying to spread such a risk

    1. I agree thorn. so wrong. is Japan a democracy at all? This mayor needs to be removed.

  2. Tyrannical tempertkantrum on the mayors part I hope he is “support! by eating! and Let’s drink the tapwater!”, I would have left long ago and watched in pure horror from afar, like Iori.
Iori know I feel the pain in your heart and am sorry.

  3. I don’t understand what is wrong with this world, I do not think myself greater than anybody neither do I think I have all the answers but why ? Why do we want to hurt, either by actions or by an ignorant righteousness ? These days I feel very sad about our future

  4. The operator of Japan’s tsunami-ravaged nuclear plant says it is repairing four reactors at a lessdamaged nearby plant despite demands from local residents that it be scrapped.
    www japantoday.com/category/national/view/tepco-repairing-reactors-near-fukushima
Daini is 7miles south from the active fault that caused the tohoku 9.0, That fault I believe runs diagonally underneath fuckushima daichi reactor 1, you can see the massive surface fracture “more than a crack” on some pictures of fukushima daichi… Good idea?

  5. I call their BLUFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THERE IS >>>>NOT<<<1< SINGLE DOUBT IN MY MIND!!! THAT DAINI, THE SUPER SECRET CAN'T LET YOU KNOW OR SEE ANYTHING ABOUT IT EVER, IS COMPLETELY BLOWN TO SMITHEREENS LIKE DAICHI.I would put $ on it.
    BIG $$$$.

  6. Before you say I post too much, this is relevant because this is the crack, if you’re into that sort of thing 😉
    >This crack likely became larger through earthquakes and is likely the imputus behind their madcap demolition endeavor which in the end resulted in the spent fuel going critical along with the much smaller fresh fuel on the other side. www deathby1000papercuts.com/2012/05/large-crack-on-south-wall-of-fukushima-nuclear-reactor-number-four-photo/

    1. oops I screwed up, 🙂 that’s the crack in reactor four, not the ground fault, here it is www houseoffoust.com/fukushima/fissures.html
      Now you have 2 cracks.

      1. When was this photo taken? I’m comparing this photo of Unit #1 (?) with the TEPCO webcam… the webcam does not show the framework of the top floors of ANY of the buildings. From what I can tell, the photo does not show Unit #1, as compared to the TEPCO webcam.

I’m not attacking you, or arguing with you, I’m just trying to understand why the photo doesn’t match what’s supposed to be live video.

  7. Deep inside his mind, this mayor is too weak to face reality.
He was a weak child, who decided to become a politician as an adult, in order to hide his weakness behind the power of a political status.
    Psychoanalysts call that pathological narcissism.
Many men in power suffer from it.

  8. Wish I could sue everyone from my childhood over “harmful rumors”. I’d be the richest person in the universe.

About this site

This website updates the latest news about the Fukushima nuclear plant and also archives the past news from 2011. Because it's always updated and added live, articles, categories and the tags are not necessarily fitted in the latest format.
I am the writer of this website. About page remains in 2014. This is because my memory about 311 was clearer than now, 2023, and I think it can have a historical value. Now I'm living in Romania with 3 cats as an independent data scientist.
Actually, nothing has progressed in the plant since 2011. We still don't even know what is going on inside. They must keep cooling the crippled reactors by water, but additionally groundwater keeps flowing into the reactor buildings from the broken parts. This is why highly contaminated water is always produced more than it can circulate. Tepco is planning to officially discharge this water to the Pacific but Tritium is still remaining in it. They dilute this with seawater so that it is legally safe, but scientifically the same amount of radioactive tritium is contained. They say it is safe to discharge, but none of them have drunk it.
