Asaza fund, an NPO to save environment of Kasumigaura lake, where is the source of water in Ibaraki measured cesium from 34 rivers to flow into Kasumigaura lake.
As the result, they measured cesium from 6 rivers, 14 points out of 34 rivers 42 points. There are 56 rivers to flow into the lake in total, Asaza fund reported on 3/30.
The highest reading was 9550 Bq/Kg from Bizengawa (Tsuchiura city), and 5430 Bq/Kg from the middle of the same river. The second highest reading was 6250 Bq/Kg from Seimeigawa.

土浦・備前川の川底土壌から9550Bq アサザ基金が測定
東京電力福島第1原発事故に伴う放射能汚染で、NPO法人アサザ基金は30日、霞ケ浦に流入する河川で今月実施した放射性セシウム濃度測定の速報値を公表した。備前川(土浦市)の1地点で川底の土壌から1ｷﾛｸﾞﾗﾑ当たり9550ﾍﾞｸﾚﾙが検出されるなど、これまでに6河川、14地点の土壌から検出された。
同基金は30日までに、霞ケ浦流入56河川のうち、34河川、42地点から底泥などを採取。水を含んだ状態と乾燥させた状態で放射性セシウム濃度など測定した。速報によると、セシウム134と137の合計は、備前川の小松橋付近の岸寄りの川底土壌から乾泥1ｷﾛｸﾞﾗﾑ当たり9550ﾍﾞｸﾚﾙ、川中央寄りから同5430ﾍﾞｸﾚﾙ、清明川(美浦村)の勝橋の河川敷から同6250ﾍﾞｸﾚﾙを検出するなどした。
詳細な測定結果が出るのはこれからになるが、放射性セシウム濃度は川の上流より下流、さらに河口近くで高まる傾向にあり、同基金は水道水などに利用されている霞ケ浦への蓄積を懸念する。
同基金の飯島博代表理事は「放射性物質の中間処理施設に厳重に保管されなければならないようなものが、河川に放置されていて、それが霞ケ浦に流れ込んでいる状態」と危機感を募らせ、「行政は早急に措置を講じる必要がある」と指摘している。
同基金は、県霞ケ浦環境科学センターで4月1日午後2時から開催するシンポジウムで今回の測定結果を報告する。
