Hot particle monitorer alerted in Fukushima plant on 3PM 1/18, cancelled on 4PM
Dust monitorer alerted to wear full face gas mask in Fukushima plants on 15:00 1/18/2012.
It was the dust monitoring post to measure the hot particles in the air continuously, set in front of the central operating room, Menshin Juyo to.Fukushima plant workers were ordered to wear full face gas mask on 15:11 1/18/2012.
Then they confirmed there was no meaningful change of the monitoring result of other posts, re-started the dust monitorer after changing the filter on 15:40 1/18/2012.
By measuring the radiation level manually in front of the central operating room, the hot particles were less than the detectable level (1.4×10-5 [Bq/cm3]) so they announced they can put off the mask on 15:56 1/18/2012.
This website updates the latest news about the Fukushima nuclear plant and also archives the past news from 2011. Because it's always updated and added live, articles, categories and the tags are not necessarily fitted in the latest format.
I am the writer of this website. About page remains in 2014. This is because my memory about 311 was clearer than now, 2023, and I think it can have a historical value. Now I'm living in Romania with 3 cats as an independent data scientist.
Actually, nothing has progressed in the plant since 2011. We still don't even know what is going on inside. They must keep cooling the crippled reactors by water, but additionally groundwater keeps flowing into the reactor buildings from the broken parts. This is why highly contaminated water is always produced more than it can circulate. Tepco is planning to officially discharge this water to the Pacific but Tritium is still remaining in it. They dilute this with seawater so that it is legally safe, but scientifically the same amount of radioactive tritium is contained. They say it is safe to discharge, but none of them have drunk it.
