Abiko city Chiba, where is known to be a hotspot conducted the thyroid test for the 1,170 children to enter elementary school this spring. None of the swelling or stiffness was reported.
The result was published in the meeting of the municipal assembly on 1/28/2013.
However, the test consisted of only visual examination and palpation.
The municipal government plans to conduct the thyroid test for 10,000 of the children (6~15 years old) from this April to June but it’s also only visual examination and palpation.

La ville d’Abiko a mené des examens de thyroïde sur des élèves en pré-élémentaire : “Examen visuel et palpations seulement”
La ville d’Abiko de Chiba, qui est connue pour être un point chaud, a procédé à des examens de thyroïde sur les 1 170 enfants qui entrent en cours élémentaire ce printemps. Aucun cas de gonflement ou de durcissement n’a été reporté.
Les résultats ont été communiqués au cours d’une réunion municipale de ce 28 janvier 2013.
Ceci étant, les examens n’ont consisté qu’en un examen visuel et une palpation.
Le conseil municipal prévoit de procéder cet examen des thyroïdes sur 10 000 des enfants(de 6 à 15 ans) entre avril et juin prochain mais ce sera toujours un examen visuel et une palpation seulement.
