88 Bq/Kg of cesium measured from well water

 

According to Minamisoma city, cesium was measured from 9 samples of well water among 405 samples in Odaka ward. The measurement was conduced from 6/15/2012 to 7/31/2012. (The lowest detectable level was 3 Bq/Kg)

The highest reading was 88 Bq/Kg. Minamisoma city comments this well was drought, they could not conduct the follow up test for some reason.

Selon la commune de Minamisoma, ils ont eu du césium dans 9 échantillons d’eau de puits sur les 405 échantillons de la circonscription d’Odaka. Les mesures ont été faites entre le 15 juin et le 31 juillet 2012. (Le plus petit détectable était à 3 Bq/kg)

Le plus haut relevé a été de 88 Bq/kg. Minamisoma dit que ce puits était à sec, qu’ils n’ont pas pu faire le test de suivi.

Actually, nothing has progressed in the plant since 2011. We still don't even know what is going on inside. They must keep cooling the crippled reactors by water, but additionally groundwater keeps flowing into the reactor buildings from the broken parts. This is why highly contaminated water is always produced more than it can circulate. Tepco is planning to officially discharge this water to the Pacific but Tritium is still remaining in it. They dilute this with seawater so that it is legally safe, but scientifically the same amount of radioactive tritium is contained. They say it is safe to discharge, but none of them have drunk it.
