Nihonmatsu city to restart serving Fukushima rice for school lunch from December

Nihonmatsu city board of education in Fukushima is going to serve local rice for school lunch from December.

They check radiation level of all the rice bags produced in 2012. Most of the 2012 rice has been checked by 11/20/2012, they haven’t measured higher than 100 Bq/Kg according to Nihonmatsu city.

They state they will serve rice only when it’s under 10 Bq/Kg, but it’s not cleared how they monitor rice to serve for school lunch.

Le bureau de l’éducation de Nihonmatsu à Fukushima va servir du riz local dans les repas scolaires à partir de décembre.

Ils contrôlent la radioactivité de tous les sacs du riz de 2012. Le gros du riz de 2012 a été contrôlé le 20 novembre 2012, ils n’ont rien relevé de supérieur à 100 Bq/kg selon les autorités de Nihonmatsu.

Ils affirment qu’il ne serviront de ce riz que s’il est en-dessous de 10 Bq/kg mais on ne sait pas précisément comment ils surveillent le riz à fournir aux cantines scolaires.

Actually, nothing has progressed in the plant since 2011. We still don't even know what is going on inside. They must keep cooling the crippled reactors by water, but additionally groundwater keeps flowing into the reactor buildings from the broken parts. This is why highly contaminated water is always produced more than it can circulate. Tepco is planning to officially discharge this water to the Pacific but Tritium is still remaining in it. They dilute this with seawater so that it is legally safe, but scientifically the same amount of radioactive tritium is contained. They say it is safe to discharge, but none of them have drunk it.
