Decontamination by using bacteria failed

Tainai city in Niigata [Link] attempted decontamination of compost by using photosynthetic bacteria to sell compost but they announced the attempt failed in city council of 7/12/2012.

They mixed photosynthetic bacteria solution with compost (21~29 Bq/Kg) but it decreased by only up to 32% though they aimed at 100%. The experiment was done with the soil of Fukushima to reduce the cesium concentration but the mechanism is not known.

TV Niigata reported this on 18:58 of 7/12/2012 (JST) but they already removed the article by 7/16/2012.

  1. In scientific research, failures are progress. I hope they will continue researching. Chernobyl and TEPCO are only the beginning. With China, Korea and India seduced into bed with the nuclear satan, there will only be more nuclear genocide in mankind’s future.

  2. They must try the bacteria out of cow stomics,in an closed place.together with methane.some radiation you never get wiped out,but cows keep on eating the same shit.

  3. Why futz around with more research when Chernobyl provides us with wealth of data?!

  4. Sure hope this is not CREATED bacteria! remember the “black” algea which accumlated radioactivity. Would be terrible to do to Japan what has happend in the Gulf of Mexico with man-made oil eating bacteria…vibro types make very nasty illness in many people.

About this site

This website updates the latest news about the Fukushima nuclear plant and also archives the past news from 2011. Because it's always updated and added live, articles, categories and the tags are not necessarily fitted in the latest format.
I am the writer of this website. About page remains in 2014. This is because my memory about 311 was clearer than now, 2023, and I think it can have a historical value. Now I'm living in Romania with 3 cats as an independent data scientist.
Actually, nothing has progressed in the plant since 2011. We still don't even know what is going on inside. They must keep cooling the crippled reactors by water, but additionally groundwater keeps flowing into the reactor buildings from the broken parts. This is why highly contaminated water is always produced more than it can circulate. Tepco is planning to officially discharge this water to the Pacific but Tritium is still remaining in it. They dilute this with seawater so that it is legally safe, but scientifically the same amount of radioactive tritium is contained. They say it is safe to discharge, but none of them have drunk it.
