Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan requested food makers and supermarket to stop their unique radiation measurement for food.
Japanese government applied new safety limit from April, which is 100Bq/Kg for ordinary food, but supermarket chain Aeon applies their original limit, which is 50Bq/kg.
MAFF states, excessive safety limit damages producers.
農林水産省はスーパーや食品業界などに、国の定める食品の安全基準よりも厳しい独自基準を設けることを止めるよう通達を出しました。
政府は今年４月から食品に関する新基準を定めており、一般食品では100Bq/Kgとしています。しかし、スーパー大手チェーンのイオンなどでは50Bq/Kgとするなど、独自の安全基準を設けています。
農林水産省は、過剰な規制は生産者に負担を与えるためと説明しています。
