    1. Radiation can cause Hearing Loss , New Delhi, India
      Radiation can damage hearing.

High doses of radiation to the ear or brain can cause inflammation or ear wax buildup in the outer ear, problems with fluid buildup in the middle ear, or stiffness of the eardrum or middle ear bones. Any of these problems can result in conductive hearing loss. Radiation can also damage the sensory hair cells in the inner ear, causing sensorineural hearing loss.
Damage from radiation may affect one or both ears, depending on the area of radiation treatment. Conductive hearing loss may improve over time, but sensorineural hearing loss is usually permanent.
Symptoms of hearing loss may include:
      • Ringing or tinkling sounds in the ear
      • Difficulty hearing in the presence of background noises
      • Not paying attention to sounds (such as voices, environmental noises)
      • Some people may have no symptoms at all
If hearing loss is detected, it is important to have an evaluation by an audiologist or otologist (doctor who specializes in hearing disorders). Hearing loss can cause problems with a person’s ability to communicate and carry out daily activities. It is therefore very important for a person with hearing loss to find the services that will best help to make the most of their ability to communicate well. There are many options available, and these can be used in various combinations, depending on the hearing problem. …

    2. As much as I find this website to be of great value and importance, I’m finding that there’s now an increase in posts that sort of lie in the “grey” area where it’s hard to pinpoint the cause as being directly related to nuclear radiation. If a post is based on speculation, then I think it needs to be said as such. Otherwise there’s a tendency to inflate and blur the truth, which I think is the reason why people turn to this website. But I’m finding that more and more posts are being posted here that falls under “speculation,” not facts. Sorry for being blunt, and I don’t know if Iori reads all the comments, but I think it’s so important not to lose site of reporting facts, and only facts. If some things are speculated then it needs to be expressed as such so people know exactly what they’re dealing with.

      1. PS: I just wanted to correct something that I wrote above. When I wrote: “Otherwise there’s a tendency to inflate and blur the truth, which I think is the reason why people turn to this website.” What I meant by why people turn to this website is that FD seems to be set on providing truth to the people. That’s the reason why people rely on this website. Sorry for not expressing myself clearly in my earlier post.

  1. I posted because I found it interesting, not that it was based on fact, I think any report should be brought forward so as to be able to make up our own minds and also that often the obscure turn out to be related down the road as so many FACTS about radiation have and many were hidden so the Green energy Concept would be excepted in the population while some made profits on others ill health ! Let all inf flow and let the truths be found out in time ! I do not write these, I am only the messenger ! Free Press !

About this site

This website updates the latest news about the Fukushima nuclear plant and also archives the past news from 2011. Because it's always updated and added live, articles, categories and the tags are not necessarily fitted in the latest format.
I am the writer of this website. About page remains in 2014. This is because my memory about 311 was clearer than now, 2023, and I think it can have a historical value. Now I'm living in Romania with 3 cats as an independent data scientist.
Actually, nothing has progressed in the plant since 2011. We still don't even know what is going on inside. They must keep cooling the crippled reactors by water, but additionally groundwater keeps flowing into the reactor buildings from the broken parts. This is why highly contaminated water is always produced more than it can circulate. Tepco is planning to officially discharge this water to the Pacific but Tritium is still remaining in it. They dilute this with seawater so that it is legally safe, but scientifically the same amount of radioactive tritium is contained. They say it is safe to discharge, but none of them have drunk it.
