Fukushima women are losing their hair

Following up this article http://fukushima-diary.com/2011/12/whats-actually-going-on-to-fukushima-people/

The blogger woman posted the hair of her old friend (42) from highschool.

She says that she always wears a wig but once she takes it off, it looks horrible.

The blogger woman and her friend both started losing her hair from October.

Only within 3 months, it became like this.

  1. whither we go? says:

Hair follicles have rapidly dividing cells–in fact, probably the most rapidly dividing cells in the adult human body, other than in intestinal lining….So, radiation will knock out those cells with mutations due to breaking the DNA strands when they are not yet wrapped in a double helix during cell division….
Rapid cell division is what also makes children more vulnerable to radiation damage. As opposed to adults, almost all the cells in a child’s body are rapidly dividing to help them grow!!

It might be helpful to wear hats in Japan!!

Women & children, due to increased risks, need to leave Fukushima already.

…not to mention that hair loss is the most noticeable symptom of chemotherapy!

Evacuate, its been sayed time and time again, its not about treason or disrespect of anything, its for the sake of survival.

And this results where expected and they know it, and whats even worse, they accumulate, even to this day.

Realise this people of Japan, it wil only be worse.

Hair follicles are very sensitive to radiation. Hair loss may be temporary or permanent, depending on the amount of radiation received

I just stumbled upon this study detailing high altitude radioactive contamination from Fukushima. It uses TEPCO and MEXT emission data to develop dispersion models of the radiation. If the models are correct the concentrations of contamination at upper altitudes are orders of magnitude higher than the concentrations at near ground levels.

The tragedy is that we are all bound eventually by vested interests and the Japan Govt is about as useful as a case of anthrax when it comes to dealing with crisis and emergency. This has been demonstrated over and again. They will all claim ignorance. We need to show all incumbent ministers concerned how this will become their legacy, the mutation of a society….hmm good story there..

  16. David says:

Acute radiation sickness causes near immediate hair loss beginning within days, this 7 month delay between the Fukushima disaster and hair loss in the Autumn is about right for a stress reaction.

See: Periodicity in the growth and shedding of hair

“This analysis demonstrated the existence of overall annual periodicity, manifested by a maximal proportion of telogen hairs at the end of summer and the beginning of autumn”
