[Column] If I don’t update Fukushima Diary for longer than 3 days

As a person who’s constantly moving, the only thing to keep me secure is being read by thousands of the readers all the time.

I’m in the very unfortified state, it’s protecting me to keep communicating with all around the world.

Even if I’m troubled somewhere or down in the room alone, almost nobody is going to realize it for a while.

It’s easier than anything to set me up, such as I was involved in some crime or accident because nobody is going to see it.

so I would like to ask my readers to worry about me if I don’t update Fukushima Diary for 2 days. If I leave no message for 3 days, please make some noise.

In that case, probably

1. I got something in my computer.

2. I got something in my server.

3. I’m in trouble.

I hope it will never happen but there’s nothing to lose to prepare an emergency plan.

You can ignore the truth but the truth won’t ignore you.

  1. Dear Iori,

Should we be worried about you? After all you have done, your own safety is most important.

    Take care and be careful.

  2. If they get to you, all they will be able to do is postpone the inevitable. Eventually the impact of this tragedy will be to great to hide, although I know the full extent will always be hidden by the media and TEPCO but as seafood supplies diminish they will be forced to come clean. I say this to encourage you, as I don’t think they will be coming for you. To much on their plate at this point, and to few people being reached. Hang tough!! -greg-

  3. Dear Iori,
I read your posts every day, what you’re doing is courageous and necessary.
maybe you could leave a contact to get in touch with if you leave no message for 3 days? (in a personnal message)
I wish you could luck, take good care of yourself, I’m in France but close to you, and concerned with what happens to you, your coutry and your people.
    sincerely
    Nathalie

  4. Yes.I am concerned for your safety, but the more global this information is,the safer you are……there are now other sites with information …although you started the truth coming out, many people will be grateful for what you are doing and have done…I was born in 1942,and was a child when the utter horror of Nagasaki and Hiroshima happened, now as an elder it saddens me so much that the world is so rotten with nuclear power,,when we have the sun,we have solar, wind and water,so,why is only Germany smart about nucs and shutting them down, but if we survive Fukushima (and the vile companies that make huge profit and give us death) perhaps the world will finally wake up…..I am filled with sorrow for the people of Japan, and so very angry at the government and Tepco….but, they are being seen now for the lies of the past two years, even the rotten American TV is starting to mention Fuckushima, therefore I WISH YOU GOOD LUCK,GOOD HEALTH.In England unless you are rich it is difficult for elders to keep warm in winter, but nothing like the suffering of the Japanese young and old right now,and I hope you can find money to survive,I would help but I am a pensioner,I promised to myself I will send money if I get some more than I have right now,I feel it my duty…Again, you are a brave young person………drusilla

  5. Hi Lori,

You put too much thing on your shoulder. Takes some holidays and come back with a more quiet mind.

The world will not go to worst direction if you take some days to keep you in good health and quiet mind.

  6. Your situation is entirely stressful 24 hours a day.
    You may need a holiday.
You may need a few days by a lake, lying in the sun, not tending a server.
One suggestion, hope you don’t mind, to help deal with the long haul of building an entirely new community.
If you need a break, a chance to refresh your mind and body,
then there are some silent meditation courses, free of charge, in Romania.
    http://www.ro.dhamma.org/index.php?L=7
Non religious buddhist tradition of mindfulness, observation of sensation, corresponding mental state and the arising understanding of human condition.
Vipassana, from Burmese forest monks tradition, not religious, just practical observation. Goal equanimity, to stay calm and have the energy to fully understand a situation, personal situation, surrounding situation, so that you can make considered decicisions, what to do next.
Really recommend Vipassana as a good life skill, wherever you are.

  7. One more thing. If something would happen to you, i and i guess more people will do your job. I’m always doing this job in my country. And i will never stop like a dragon catching his prey.

  8. Thank you for all you do. You are not alone. We are here for you. Sleep well and take care of your health.

  9. Hope you’ll be allright man.
People don’t know about whats going on in fukushima. Media is shutting it down, big time!
You might become a legend doing what youre doing.
Stay safe man, may peace be with you.

    From Stockholm, Sweden.

  10. Hang in there dude. I’ve been following your informative stories for a couple of years now and wouldn’t like to see anything happen to you.

  11. Can you provide us a contact procedure as to whom to notify? To have a agent (volunteer) to help makes real sense. it depends on where you are..so you probably need a trusted agent who has copies of all your important papers, photo/fingerprints, an international power of attounrny (if there is one), and a plan for getting you to a safe house. Otherwise, just to tell police you are missing, they will yawn..say wait as lori is an adutlletc etc. We can notify the Japanese consulate (is that sad??) for their assistance, and the consulate of the country you are in for refuge.
A person who supports you like this needs all you family contact info, you health info, financial information, and should hold copies of all important documents such as passorts. The are almost, or could be, a family member. this is probable over kill/worrly, but we care.

  12. Possibly the BEST protective action that supporters can take …

Is to become more troublesome to the Nuclear Power Plant Industry and these international coverups.

A large increase in the number of INFORMED, ACTIVE members of the global community would reduce the temptation to focus on the few, such as Iori.

This is the defense used by schools of fish … Too many small targets.

    Sincerely,

    Bill Duff

  13. Stay strong Iori and NEVER think you are alone. We are all with you in our thoughts, every moment of the day and night. You are a shining light in a world of compounding deceit and betrayal brought about by those who should protect us.
If you are ever in Australia there is a warm welcome, a place at our table and a spacious private room for you for as long as you care to grace us with your presence.
    Go well my friend,
    Danny.

  14. It seems, you need an ally.
    Perhaps I could be one.
Contact me via mail, if you want.

    Barbara

  15. Lori,

It’s clear that TEPCO are criminally negligent (via Nonfeasance) in this matter and if it goes to court TEPCO will have to prove that they operated the reactors inside GE’s design basis (S class facilities may not have power interuptions) for the which they clearly did not.

This is especially true for the placement of all nine back-up power generators on the seaward side of the reactor with an inadequate seawall.

This means that the fight is between GE and Tepco, not you. I hope that makes you feel a little better about things because I feel that your site is of immense value in getting the information out there.

I’m hope that the Japanese people are lobbying the government for an explanation at a political level.

Recriminations aside much of this is already known so the best thing is what you are doing and as a person from Australia, who shares the Pacific ocean with you, I applaud your efforts.

You are probably fatigued from the effort so make sure you pace yourself and get enough rest. Also, if you are using an iodine solution (anyone in Japan for that matter) be aware that it will change your brain chemistry if you are not very careful how you use it. 1-3 drops per week should be the limit depending on body size.

So you know I’m sincere, you can look for my additional posts about this and other failures of the Nuclear industry dating back almost 10 years.

    Best wishes and good luck

    John

About this site

This website updates the latest news about the Fukushima nuclear plant and also archives the past news from 2011. Because it's always updated and added live, articles, categories and the tags are not necessarily fitted in the latest format.
I am the writer of this website. About page remains in 2014. This is because my memory about 311 was clearer than now, 2023, and I think it can have a historical value. Now I'm living in Romania with 3 cats as an independent data scientist.
Actually, nothing has progressed in the plant since 2011. We still don't even know what is going on inside. They must keep cooling the crippled reactors by water, but additionally groundwater keeps flowing into the reactor buildings from the broken parts. This is why highly contaminated water is always produced more than it can circulate. Tepco is planning to officially discharge this water to the Pacific but Tritium is still remaining in it. They dilute this with seawater so that it is legally safe, but scientifically the same amount of radioactive tritium is contained. They say it is safe to discharge, but none of them have drunk it.
