Tepco to restart nitrogen injection to reactor1, “The volume of gas is 40% more than last time”

According to Tepco, they are going to restart nitrogen injection into the suppression chamber of reactor1.

6~7m3/h will be injected in order to “push out the retained hydrogen gas” and also “look into the effect of radiolysis of water within suppression chamber”, which implies Tepco admits hydrogen gas is being produced from the radiolysis of water.

They injected nitrogen gas into reactor1 on 2/26/2013 as well, but it was 5m3/h, which was only 71 ~ 83% of this time.

If the hydrogen gas density goes over 2%, there is a possibility of further hydrogen explosion.

Selon Tepco, ils vont recommencer à injecter de l’azote dans la chambre de surpression du réacteur 1.

6~7 m³/h vont être injectés pour “chasser dehors l’hydrogène gazeux retenu” et aussi “examiner les effets de la radiolyse de l’eau dans la chambre en surpression”, ce qui implique que Tepco admet que l’hydrogène gazeux est produit par la radiolyse de l’eau.
Ils avaient aussi injecté de l’azote dans le réacteur 1 le 26 février 2013 mais c’était à 5 m³/h, soit 71 ~ 83 % par rapport à cette fois-ci.
Si la densité en hydrogène gazeux dépasse les 2 %, il devient possible d’avoir une autre explosion d’hydrogène.

They must keep cooling the crippled reactors by water, but additionally groundwater keeps flowing into the reactor buildings from the broken parts. This is why highly contaminated water is always produced more than it can circulate. Tepco is planning to officially discharge this water to the Pacific but Tritium is still remaining in it. They dilute this with seawater so that it is legally safe, but scientifically the same amount of radioactive tritium is contained. They say it is safe to discharge, but none of them have drunk it.
