[Column] Move before stunned

A radiation watcher is sick.
I have been following his outstanding researches and some of the Fukushima Diary posts are based on his work.

eg, This is where over 20,000 Bq/Kg was measured in front of Harajuku station, Tokyo [URL]

He tweets a lot about his health problems recently. He seems to have problems with thyroid and constantly has headache and dry eye.
He admits it is probably he was always in the highly radioactive places called “micro spot”.

I really admire his works but maybe it’s time for him to move.
However, he’s worried about health insurance after moving. For example, he can’t have a health insurance in USA. That keeps him still there.

He’s right. Now he goes to a hospital constantly and already needing medicine for his thyroid etc..

but I was sick too. I took more than double amount of cough medicine as instructed otherwise I couldn’t even sleep because of too much coughing. Nothing stopped my diarrhea. (had a hard time on the airplane and trains)

but from my experience, you get better if you move. I didn’t need a medicine after moving.

I don’t know what symptoms he has exactly, but generally, I think once you move, most of the problems are automatically solved.

Scenes look different depending on where you are. Even if you see a huge mountain on your way, sometimes it turns out to be just your own shadow.

I worry, but at the same time, I know 90% of what I’m worried about is illusion made by my mood.

There’s no problem, there’s only a situation, and if you move, the situation changes.
Start moving before stunned. You’ll see it already solved before you know.

About this site

This website updates the latest news about the Fukushima nuclear plant and also archives the past news from 2011. Because it's always updated and added live, articles, categories and the tags are not necessarily fitted in the latest format.
I am the writer of this website. About page remains in 2014. This is because my memory about 311 was clearer than now, 2023, and I think it can have a historical value. Now I'm living in Romania with 3 cats as an independent data scientist.
Actually, nothing has progressed in the plant since 2011. We still don't even know what is going on inside. They must keep cooling the crippled reactors by water, but additionally groundwater keeps flowing into the reactor buildings from the broken parts. This is why highly contaminated water is always produced more than it can circulate. Tepco is planning to officially discharge this water to the Pacific but Tritium is still remaining in it. They dilute this with seawater so that it is legally safe, but scientifically the same amount of radioactive tritium is contained. They say it is safe to discharge, but none of them have drunk it.
