4,040 Bq/kg from beach

The Environmental Scientific Society of Iwaki District (Chairman: Hashimoto Koichi, an honorary professor of Fukushima National College of Technology) measured 4,040 Bq/kg from the sand of the beach in Nagasaki Kaigan, Iwaki Fukushima.

They took measurements from April to November. They took 30 samples from 14 locations along 60km of coastal line. They determined that the contamination is higher to the north and lower to the south.

They also found out that the radiation level is higher inside the sand than on the surface. They are going to publish their research results on 1/21/2012.
