Tepco masked all the tritium data of ground water contamination as “Under analysis”

About the major leakage of highly contaminated water, Tepco analyzes ground water to see if ground water is affected.

Tepco has made 7 borings between the reservoirs and sea and check the radiation level and chloride concentration.

On 4/17/2013, Tepco released the data, and total β nuclide was under detectable level in all the 7 borings.

However, the tritium concentration is not reported. The readings are all marked as “Under analysis”.

Tritium is also a β nuclide. Because it’s radioactive water, Tepco cannot remove it from retained water or ground water if it’s contained.

Actually, nothing has progressed in the plant since 2011. We still don't even know what is going on inside. They must keep cooling the crippled reactors by water, but additionally groundwater keeps flowing into the reactor buildings from the broken parts. This is why highly contaminated water is always produced more than it can circulate. Tepco is planning to officially discharge this water to the Pacific but Tritium is still remaining in it. They dilute this with seawater so that it is legally safe, but scientifically the same amount of radioactive tritium is contained. They say it is safe to discharge, but none of them have drunk it.
