News: Fukushima blackout

About 22:00 9/21/2011,Typhoon 15th passed Fukushima.

Since around 9PM,Fukushima live streaming camera “Fukuichi camera” stopped showing anything for unknown reason.

Around the same time,major part of Fukushima prefecture went out of power.

No detailed news was announced.

Also,water standard indicators for spent fuel pool of reactor 1,2,and the gauge of pump for vessels of reactor 1,2,3 went black out.No data is sent to the control room.

At 21:32 9/21/2011,Tepco admitted that 200 tons ~ 500 tons of ground water flow into the basement floor “on the daily bases”. Their intention of announcement “at this timing” is not known yet.


From 9PM to 12PM,Fukuichi camera went on and off,but it completely went blackout since then.

Now still we can not see anything on the screen.


JNN live streams the video but we can not figure out anything from the angle.


Now typhoon is east of Hokkaido,but still news from Fukushima power is shut down.

At 11PM of 9/21,Fukuichi camera showed a crane was leaning over the reactor 3.

Additionally,reactor 4 was severely damaged even before the typhoon.

We all want to know what is going on in the plant area.

So far,radiation level is comparatively high around in Tokyo area too.

The Geiger counter of a Kanagawa citizen shows 0.14 uSv/h.

Actually, nothing has progressed in the plant since 2011. We still don't even know what is going on inside. They must keep cooling the crippled reactors by water, but additionally groundwater keeps flowing into the reactor buildings from the broken parts. This is why highly contaminated water is always produced more than it can circulate. Tepco is planning to officially discharge this water to the Pacific but Tritium is still remaining in it. They dilute this with seawater so that it is legally safe, but scientifically the same amount of radioactive tritium is contained. They say it is safe to discharge, but none of them have drunk it.
