[Marine contamination] Cs-134 measured from Miyagi offshore seawater, radiation level not been decreasing

According to Tepco, Cs-134 was measured from seawater offshore Miyagi prefecture. The half-life of Cs-134 is 2 years. Measurement of Cs-134 proves the radioactive contamination reached offshore Miyagi.

The highest reading was 5.4 Bq/m3 from offshore Shichigahama (Upper layer). The sampling date was 3/5/2013.

Since the beginning of 2013, radiation level has not been decreasing regardless of the tidal current.

Selon Tepco, du Cs 134 a été relevé dans l’eau de mer au large de la préfecture de Miyagi. La demie-vie du Cs 134 est de 2 ans. Ce relevé de Cs 134 prouve que la contamination radioactive est arrivée au large du Miyagi.

Le record a été de 5,4 Bq/m³ au large de Shichigahama (couche supérieure). L’échantillon est du 5 mars 2013.
Depuis le début de 2013, sans tenir compte des courants de marée, la radioactivité n’a pas diminué.

Actually, nothing has progressed in the plant since 2011. We still don't even know what is going on inside. They must keep cooling the crippled reactors by water, but additionally groundwater keeps flowing into the reactor buildings from the broken parts. This is why highly contaminated water is always produced more than it can circulate. Tepco is planning to officially discharge this water to the Pacific but Tritium is still remaining in it. They dilute this with seawater so that it is legally safe, but scientifically the same amount of radioactive tritium is contained. They say it is safe to discharge, but none of them have drunk it.
