This seismic situation is significantly similar to 3/9/2011, 2 days before 311.
At 11:45:12 of 3/9/2011, M7.3 hit the same location with series of aftershock to follow.

It might be presumed that the plate that ran aground on 3/11/2011 was stretched over again on 12/7/2012.

Le 7 décembre 2012 à 17:18, un séisme de magnitude 7,3 a frappé “au large de la côte de Sanriku” et il y en a encore des répliques.
Cette situation sismique est similaire à celle du 9 mars 2011, 2 jours avant celui du 11-3.
Le 9 mars 2011 à 11:45:12, un séisme M7,3 frappe au même endroit et des séries de répliques s’en suivent.

Nous devons être prudents dans les jours qui viennent. Si j’étais au Japon, je déménagerais quelque part à l’ouest à un endroit d’où l’ont peut facilement accéder à un aéroport international ce week-end.

well if this is a precursor to a magnitude 9 quake, in that same area, i doubt the damaged units will survive it.
I guess the one good thing is almost all the nuke stations have been powered down, but Fuku Unit 4 was powered down and it still melted down.
It s a pity the japanese didn’t treat this whole thing as a crisis from the beginning.
These are the IODP coordinates for JAMSTEC ‘fast drilling’ of two bore holes off Sendai, to study the fault plane of the 3-11 great Tohoku quake (http://www.iodp.org/expedition-map?view=expedition). In the last year, a thermal sensing device was placed in the 3-11 fault plane to determine any friction/heating, ahead of another quake.
