Back-up tanks of 4,000 tonnes are already nearly full with two more Typhoons coming

Two more typhoons are coming to cause heavy rains to Japan from this weekend.

However, the back-up tanks are already nearly full. Tepco didn’t announce the exact storage rate of the tanks.

Tepco is supposed to pump up the “rainwater” retained in the tank area dams. The back-up tanks are to stock the pumped water.

The total capacity is 4,000 tonnes.

According to the site, they are transferring the water from the back-up tanks to the turbine buildings but it is not sure if they can complete it before the two Typhoons are coming.


Because of the guiding of Japanese family and the next research, I decided to accept the donations temporarily again. Thank you for your consideration.

Tepco est supposé pomper les “eaux de pluie” retenues dans les endiguements des zones de citernes. Ces citernes de réserve sont là pour stocker ces eaux pompées.
Leur capacité totale est de 4 000 tonnes.
Selon leur site, ils vont transvaser l’eau de ces citernes de réserve dans les bâtiments des turbines des réacteurs mais on ne sait pas s’ils en auront le temps avant l’arrivée des deux typhons.

J’ai décidé d’accepter temporairement les dons à nouveau à cause du guidage de la famille japonaise et de la prochaine recherche. Merci d’y penser.

Actually, nothing has progressed in the plant since 2011. We still don't even know what is going on inside. They must keep cooling the crippled reactors by water, but additionally groundwater keeps flowing into the reactor buildings from the broken parts. This is why highly contaminated water is always produced more than it can circulate. Tepco is planning to officially discharge this water to the Pacific but Tritium is still remaining in it. They dilute this with seawater so that it is legally safe, but scientifically the same amount of radioactive tritium is contained. They say it is safe to discharge, but none of them have drunk it.
