[Reactor4]Fukushima worker “Shroud was being replaced when 311 happened, pipes are cut off.”

Actual Fukushima worker Happy11311 commented on Twitter that reactor4 was not only in the maintenance when 311 happened, but it was also being remodeled to replace the shroud. The pipes were cut off inside of the drywell, they are only briefly welded, can leak the reactor water anytime.

He also pointed out that no one can enter the torus room of reactor1 for longer than 10 years even if they manage to develop a robot.

Today’s “shake” [LINK] was spooky to remind me of 311, but nothing happened. Anyway, yesterday Tepco published the video about inside of reactor1’s torus room. The high level of radiation was expected but I got worried about the corrosion of the pipes.

I think you can’t enter the torus room for the next decade at least. If they can’t develop a robot, it will be longer. One day, the corroded pipes will be broken by a slight shock of an earthquake seeing how much the pipes have been corroded only within a year. Contaminated water may spread around by going through the corroded pipes.

but that’s not only for reactor1, reactor2 ~ 4 can leak contaminated water for the same reason. so we need to map all the pipe-laying routes and if a part is less contaminated, we need to cut and close it by freezing technology etc, “Look before you leap”. but it’s always “Look after you leap” in case of Tepco.

People are only worried about the incline of the reactor4 building or seismicity, but I’m not really concerned abou that though I’m not optimistic either. What concerns me more is that reactor 4 was being under the major remodeling construction when 311 happened.

For the remodeling construction, the pipes to connect to Reactor Pressure Vessel (RPV) inside of the drywell were cut off, and they were temporarily closed to wait for the replacement. It’s merely briefly welded to temporarily close, I’m worried that furnace water may leak from those pipes anytime.

They cut off the pipes inside of the drywell to replace shroud.
