[Derangement] Let's drink tap water campaign in Fukushima

Following up this article..Water contamination reached west Kanagawa

Having radiation reach the river in Kanagawa over 200km away from Fukushima, Iwaki city is having the campaign of “Let’s drink tap water.” Iwaki city is only 43km from Fukushima plants.

[Derangement] Let's drink tap water campaign in Fukushima

They made this postcard from the painting by a 10 years old student in Taira 5th elementary school in Iwaki city.
For the reason of recommending to drink tap water, it is said that the bottled water is unfriendly for the environment because it uses plastic bottles.

  1. I hate to burst their bubble, yet it has been admitted in Canada at the very least, that bottled water is by-and-large processed from tap water.
I think the primary concern with the plastics used is the contamination from BPA. I hate to think of what is leeched from the so-called “stainless-steel” containers from manufacturers that only pay lip-service to product safety.

  2. If someday I become a politician I would like to rule Japanese people. They are perfect to rule over them!! You can piss over them, tell them that it’s raining and they will believe that gold is falling from the sky.

Japanese voter: My daughter is dying of cancer, do something!.
Japanese ruler: しょうがない… (It can’t be helped)
Jap voter: Oh, sorry to ask, sir, I will continue with my insignificant everyday tasks.

    1. Unfortunately, not all humans can control their brain stems subconscious thought processes…similar to how a reptiles brain functions. The idea of one ruler over a large population of people being absolutely infallable and yet still human is an arrogant oxymoron that I believe still to this day angers the gods.

Grow up or be left in the dust. May god have mercy on your soul.

    2. United States is no different………….Physicians get money for pushing cancer drugs that are new and not as affective as the older generic ones. A lot of the cancer drugs that were effective are the older generic ones which are not produced as much anymore because not enough money is made off them compared to the new cancer drugs. So doctors are asked to push the new less affective drugs. In return the doctor gets a BONUS from the pharm company! Welcome to AMERICA!!!!!!! We love ya, we’ll kill ya and make money off your illness!!!!! ONe less person to worry about……..makes me sick!!!!!

    3. I really feel sorry for these little asian munchkins but they are scheduled for termination .. the thing thats really upsetting is the cruelty thats involved, you would think there is a more humane way to terminate them I’m sure those munchkins would also line up for lethal injections, something that kills them without pain.

For real Japanese go grow a brain and know your rulers are traitors to your race. They have been paid off for depopulating you Isnt that obvious to you by now. Or do you want cancer growing out of your necks and out of your bellies???!! But hey, be obedient little Tamagotchis or Pokemons and die, dammit even loyalty to the Fuehrer Himself would never get me to knowingly drink heavily contaminated water..

  3. I wonder what it would take to convince you the water was safe enough to drink? Or can it never be safe in your opinion?

  5. That is the problem, and that is no way to think when it comes to being a “Elected representative of the people”, BUT ALL TO OFTEN THIS DISDAIN COMES NATURALLY? OH WOE, HOW FLAWED
To all elected officials> you don’t even know that anybody in the world can act like an idiot, it takes real intelligence to act righteous, and even more intelligence to be genius. You’ve proven you’re less moralistically inclined and intelligent than a drug addicted homeless person. /PROVEN

  6. As an American nuclear professional working at Daiichi and staying in Iwaki I can tell you without bias that the water here is fine to drink. Yes, I am drinking it every day.
There is some very very minor surface contamination here on flat surfaces from fallout. It is barely detectable, and it isn’t much different than the radiation exposure from eating foods such as bananas and brazil nuts. I understand that people fear radiation, but its all around us. It comes from the earth, and from space.
Contamination levels in the exclusion zone arent even as bad as I expected to see. This whole disaster, as bad as it seems, could have been MUCH worse. Everything that I have witnessed shows a very conservative stance by the Japanese regulators to protect the public.
These are my professional opinions, and have not been influenced by any agency, or persons.

    1. The current massive influx of ionizing radiation into the environment is not, and never will be, good for any of us. I figured that as a “nuclear professional” you might specify which type of radiation “comes from the earth, and from space” – electromagnetic? heat? ionizing? I’ll just act like I think you know what you are talking about and assume you meant ionizing radiation… but that would make your statement invalid, as it is extremely rare to find that type and amount of radiation naturally. Nice banana/nut analogy chump, “Professional idiot” sounds more like it. “American nuclear professional”… weren’t those GE reactors an American design? That’s right, they were. What happened to them? That’s right, they melted through (not just down) and are slowly killing the island of Japan.

Keep drinking the water, you’ll be doing all of us a favor.

About this site

This website updates the latest news about the Fukushima nuclear plant and also archives the past news from 2011. Because it's always updated and added live, articles, categories and the tags are not necessarily fitted in the latest format.
I am the writer of this website. About page remains in 2014. This is because my memory about 311 was clearer than now, 2023, and I think it can have a historical value. Now I'm living in Romania with 3 cats as an independent data scientist.
Actually, nothing has progressed in the plant since 2011. We still don't even know what is going on inside. They must keep cooling the crippled reactors by water, but additionally groundwater keeps flowing into the reactor buildings from the broken parts. This is why highly contaminated water is always produced more than it can circulate. Tepco is planning to officially discharge this water to the Pacific but Tritium is still remaining in it. They dilute this with seawater so that it is legally safe, but scientifically the same amount of radioactive tritium is contained. They say it is safe to discharge, but none of them have drunk it.
