[135 workers have been exposed to higher than 100 mSv in total]

Even by the survey of Tepco, their 135 workers turned out to have been exposed to more than 100 mSv in total. However, this is the data “by the end of June”.

This includes direct exposure and internal exposure. There will be more people exposed to high level of radiation expected.

[Cesium in sea may return in 20 to 30 years]

Radioactive cesium that was released into the ocean from the Fukushima No. 1 nuclear plant is likely to flow back to Japan’s coast in 20 to 30 years after circulating in the northern Pacific Ocean in a clockwise pattern, researchers said Wednesday.

Researchers at the Meteorological Research Institute and the Central Research Institute of Electric Power Industry estimated that the amount of radioactive cesium-137 that was directly released into the sea came to 3,500 terabecquerels from March to the end of May, while estimating that roughly 10,000 TERAbecquerels fell into the ocean after it was released into the air.

[144,200 Bq/kg]

Though none of the citizen has ever voted for the “law”,gov is allowed to abandon radioactive waste if it’s from 8,000 Bq/kg ~ 100,000 Bq/kg now.

However, they found 144,200 Bq/kg of cesium in refuse incineration ash at Fukushima, which is even worse than their safety limit.

Now it’s kept in the shelter.

In my generation, being good believers of the Imperial HQ Speech, there are still many who follow the [today’s] Imperial HQ Speech, the TEPCO and Government Speech. I’m not concerned about my generation, but I have responsibility to protect children and grandchildren. I wanted to feel good, that it had been a good life. Now, there is no future. I want to believe in the future of young people. Don’t believe in the Imperial HQ Speech.

About this site

This website updates the latest news about the Fukushima nuclear plant and also archives the past news from 2011. Because it's always updated and added live, articles, categories and the tags are not necessarily fitted in the latest format.
I am the writer of this website. About page remains in 2014. This is because my memory about 311 was clearer than now, 2023, and I think it can have a historical value. Now I'm living in Romania with 3 cats as an independent data scientist.
Actually, nothing has progressed in the plant since 2011. We still don't even know what is going on inside. They must keep cooling the crippled reactors by water, but additionally groundwater keeps flowing into the reactor buildings from the broken parts. This is why highly contaminated water is always produced more than it can circulate. Tepco is planning to officially discharge this water to the Pacific but Tritium is still remaining in it. They dilute this with seawater so that it is legally safe, but scientifically the same amount of radioactive tritium is contained. They say it is safe to discharge, but none of them have drunk it.
