Tsunami alert of 1m was announced. The estimated arrival time is 2:40 AM (JST).

The scale of the earthquake was 4.

This report is sooner than the official announcement.

 

 

I reject the international mass media to read this site without taking a contact with me.I know some of the mass media corporations read Fukushima Diary to understand the trend so they know when to report about Fukushima as if they were independently following it for a long time.
In short, they make you individual readers pay for this site while they pay nothing, and when they publish the “authorized news”, you pay for the “secondhand news”, which is nothing new for us.
This site is free for the individual readers, but not for corporations.In the world, this site is nearly the only source about Fukushima. I came here alone without any supporting organizations, background or anything. I’m not pleased to be exploited by the corporations that didn’t even properly report about Fukushima when 311 took place.

I demand them to take a contact with me BEFORE reading this site whatever the purpose is.

J’interdis à la grande presse internationale de lire et d’utiliser ce site sans préalablement prendre contact avec moi. Je sais que certaines grandes sociétés de presse lisent le Fukushima Diary pour comprendre la tendance et trouver quand rendre compte de la situation de Fukushima comme s’ils la suivaient indépendamment depuis longtemps.
En résumé, ils vous font payer à vous, simples lecteurs, ce qu’ils prennent gratuitement dans ce site et lorsqu’ils publient des “nouvelles de première main” vous payez pour des “nouvelles resucées”, qui n’ont rien de nouveau pour nous.
Ce site est gratuit pour les lecteurs individuels, pas pour les sociétés. Ce site est pratiquement la seule source au monde sur Fukushima. Je viens ici seul sans aucun soutien d’organisation quelconque, ni références, ni rien. Je n’apprécie pas de me faire exploiter par ces sociétés qui n’ont même pas été foutues de relater correctement ce qui se passait à Fukushima quand a eu lieu le mois de mars 2011.

Je leur demande de prendre contact avec moi AVANT de lire ce site dans quelque but que ce soit.

    2. Guys,

      The JMA (Japan Meteorological Agency) uses a different scale to measure earthquakes than the Richter scale.
      The earthquake measured 7.3 on the Richter scale, but 4 on the JMA’s scale.
      Either way, it was a significant earthquake; it is also said to have lasted for a long time.
      I hope it didn’t do too much damage.

        They did the only publicly available, and scientifically accurate, measurements of fallout reaching the west coast of the US.

    2. Certainly Arnie Gunderson at Fairewinds and Marco Kaltofen of Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) have been and remain PRICELESS sources of information during the continuing Fukushima disaster(s).

      These guys have EARNED but not received all the HONORS bestowable by the now defunct American Republic.

      The unAmerican surveillance society is a hollowed-out laughing-stock.

    Mr. Mochizuki,
    I would highly recommend using the law to your advantage. We all know the news is just a corporate aggregator and they will rip you off, give you nothing in return for your never ending work and passion, and can easily pass it off on their own. Don’t forget that you are a huge TRUSTABLE source for Japanese information that not many people can understand or especially read. Most all the western languages use very similar alphabets and grammar structure whereas Asian languages are so unfamilliar. This means you are an incredible asset. You can translate as a native speaker and you grew up in the society. You aren’t a corporate whore and as such you need to give yourself credit. Just your translation skills alone, had they existed in similar fasion in the form of a Russian/Ukranian/Belarusian from Chernobyl translating for the world the data of studies, “news,” etc. so it wouldn’t take decades for the truth or even a governmental collapse.

    So, what you must do is create a legal standing ground for you to justify action against such theft. (Ideas are only stolen when sold for profit of malicious actor. IMO) I would recommend to start looking into putting GNU licenses on your website. It would allow people to freely use your article as long as it is NOT changed, and must give YOU the credit. You have incorporated already, no? I would challenge these people. Start building cases and start looking into those public licenses. I know you are extremely intelligent and probably already know what I mean, but I just want to help anyway I can. I truly love you for you are what it means to be a man. A man does not have to kill, murder, maim, or hate to be a man and in fact that is the complete opposite. Men are protectors of those not as strong/ignorant. (I mean Women can be Men as well. It’s a state of mind and body declared within the context of our current social norms. Freedom and independence of mind and body with the strength to carry out the inherent responsibilities.) Perhaps, keep logged ip’s and find out the news organizations who are grifting your material and passing it off as their own. After enough discovery, you might find you really are being used and they are directly stealing money from you because the website IS monetized through donation meaning it cannot exist without donations and by media taking traffic from your site through its’ use of your material and no recognition of your site and donation system of monetization, they are stealing from you. Hope I inspired you a little as you inspire me constantly. Much love from America!

    Also, don’t feel bad about donations. As long as you have your expenditure list as transparent as you do, people will gladly give you money it’s just that average folk are broke and not many people trust paypal. (Alternatives, BTC?, has to be other ways of donations safely getting to you. Why let paypal take your money?) When you get a donation think of it as I worked for this because you did. You started a business, the kind of business the world needs. I would fully promote your donations without feelings of shame. Just a side note, I know I’m scatter brained, but comments are rough drafts.

    P.S. Despite being American my best friend lives there with his wife and brand new baby boy. 🙁 I can’t convince them to flee. Perhaps, the propaganda is too strong in Japan? I’d love to teach classes on Propaganda: Finding it, Neutralizing it. Why are Japanese so, and not the whole obviously, but outwardly to the world seemingly so ignorant of the plant? Is there a culutral reason or is it purely corporate mentality? To an American, it looks like Japan took American materialism and took it to a whole new level where it became anthropomorphized into something sadly greater than another real human. This website updates the latest news about the Fukushima nuclear plant and also archives the past news from 2011. Because it's always updated and added live, articles, categories and the tags are not necessarily fitted in the latest format.
I am the writer of this website. About page remains in 2014. This is because my memory about 311 was clearer than now, 2023, and I think it can have a historical value. Now I'm living in Romania with 3 cats as an independent data scientist.
Actually, nothing has progressed in the plant since 2011. We still don't even know what is going on inside. They must keep cooling the crippled reactors by water, but additionally groundwater keeps flowing into the reactor buildings from the broken parts. This is why highly contaminated water is always produced more than it can circulate. Tepco is planning to officially discharge this water to the Pacific but Tritium is still remaining in it. They dilute this with seawater so that it is legally safe, but scientifically the same amount of radioactive tritium is contained. They say it is safe to discharge, but none of them have drunk it.
