Iori Mochizuki Fukushima Diary can accept donation directly at bank. BANK : PIRAEUS BANK ROMANIAUSDIBAN : RO53 PIRB 4205 7394 0100 3000EUROIBAN : RO87 PIRB 4205 7394 0100 2000SWIFT : PIRBROBU(FUKUSHIMA DIARY SRL) Thank you for your donation. More and more people are starting to question if Tepco can really handle the decommissioning work of Fukushima. About 10 days before this post, they lost power in Fukushima plant, which stopped the coolant system of the pools of reactor1, 3, and 4. Tepco concluded it was caused by “a small animal -rat“, but the [...]

<Quote> [Guardian] A furious reaction is expected from Beijing if the LDP goes ahead with campaign pledges to develop fisheries and build on the Senkakus, a group of islands administered by Japan but also claimed by China, which calls them the Diaoyu. Abe also supports revisions to the constitution to give Japan’s military a [...]

[Column] Why Fukushima Diary reports Japanese political situation that has drifted to the right

Among Japanese people who have been worried about radiation, the biggest concern is conscription at the time. This may sound difficult to understand for non-Japanese nationality holders, but this is the most important issue for Japanese people. For 12,000 workers Tepco planned to collect, only 4,000 workers came to work in 2012. The shortage of [...]

[Column] 3 reasons why we must stop loving Japan

There were some reasons why I left Japan. One of the biggest reasons was the spreading radiation, but another reason was the rising fascism. I did not talk about that much because nobody expected Japan to become right-wing again. Everyone thought Japan was the most peaceful country. However, I have been warning the rising fascism [...]
