[Column] Can’t be ash

In the bed, I wished all the food were tablets and capsules

so I wouldn’t miss the taste of food and everybody would be equally starving.

I was suffering from irritable bowel syndrome from about 3 years old to 12 years old.

This is what I thought when I was 9 y.o.

I could hardly eat what I wanted, was hardly full. It was also the stress to make the symptom worse.

This is why I have no good memory about my childhood. It was all like hell.

3 children were diagnosed with thyroid cancer and 7 children are going to have surgery.

MOE surveyed other prefectures to conclude the thyroid problem ratio is actually higher than Fukushima prefecture but the researching organization is connected to Yamashita Shunichi.

Moderately speaking, the survey result is questionable.

Whatever happens, no matter how serious it becomes, Japanese government will assert it has nothing to do with radiation because if all the victims demand the government to compensate, the national budget will be drought out. It affects US economy, China, EU, and all around the world.

My irritable bowel syndrome would be nothing compared to their life long disorder of thyroid.

When they grow up, (I hope they will) will they look back in resignation or anger ?

The ones who must take the responsibility, such as Katsumata, Shimizu and all other numbers of nuclear fan club members are still in power.

They even raise the power bill and I personally anticipate Fukushima Daini would be restarted.
It’s not to generate power for us. It is to generate money for themselves.

Do we let them remain in power ?

Evil will prosper
until we retaliate.

Tepco is raising the salary of employees. Abe is going to restart nuclear plants.
It’s their new spring.

but I’m waiting like a pilot flame.
I’m a blogger so I expect other news media to give it more coverage.
There seems to be a slight sign that the fire spreads.
Reuters is attending the Tepco-related press conference recently.
I hope more foreign media (RT is already doing the good job) to do independent journalism like just after 311 when the government all tried to conceal the fact of meltdown.

Even if you think you extinguished the fire, it can start burning up again with a small fire kept inside of the ash.
I am the small fire. I’m waiting to be found and let it flame up again.

  1. You are a flame. You are a blogger. Heartfelt and beautifully written, this column was moving and powerful. You are a writer.

  2. Just watched the Japanese tv. It was a nice story about let’s eat special Fukushima food to “celebrate” the disaster. Japanese seem to enjoy eating contaminated food, as they throw more radiation in the destroyed pacific everyday, as if everything is OK. Only in Taiwan and Europe there is big protests.

Thank you for the french translation of this good column
    Best regards
    Jeep

  4. “Perseverance is more prevailing than violence; and many things which cannot be overcome when they are together, yield themselves up when taken little by little.” Plutarch

“Permanence, perseverance and persistence in spite of all obstacles, discouragements, and impossibilities: It is this, that in all things distinguishes the strong soul from the weak.” Thomas Carlyle

“Perseverance is a great element of success. If you only knock long enough and loud enough at the gate, you are sure to wake up somebody.” Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

  5. I really fear for those children and young women in Japan… It’s heartbreaking. We need to show compassion, combined with the strength and discipline to reduce their exposure by relocation.

Thyroid disease is not some minute afterthought. The thyroid actually keeps you alive, impacts the respiration of all your cells, regulates your hormones and heartbeats, keeps you conscious. If children are born to thyroid function-deficient women, they are hypothyroid and often suffer brain damage. It is the most sensitive gland and critical for your immune system, too… All hail the Thyroid!…

Best of luck to those young people (with females usually worst affected)!!!
This is a terrible disaster and I am thinking of the anniversary tomorrow!..

About this site

This website updates the latest news about the Fukushima nuclear plant and also archives the past news from 2011. Because it's always updated and added live, articles, categories and the tags are not necessarily fitted in the latest format.
I am the writer of this website. About page remains in 2014. This is because my memory about 311 was clearer than now, 2023, and I think it can have a historical value. Now I'm living in Romania with 3 cats as an independent data scientist.
Actually, nothing has progressed in the plant since 2011. We still don't even know what is going on inside. They must keep cooling the crippled reactors by water, but additionally groundwater keeps flowing into the reactor buildings from the broken parts. This is why highly contaminated water is always produced more than it can circulate. Tepco is planning to officially discharge this water to the Pacific but Tritium is still remaining in it. They dilute this with seawater so that it is legally safe, but scientifically the same amount of radioactive tritium is contained. They say it is safe to discharge, but none of them have drunk it.
