I just measured 2.75μSv/h from black substance in a parking lot in Higashi Funabashi. If I gathered the dust together I suppose that could be doubled or more, but I’m trying to understand why the gamma was not so high as the alpha. (There is an area about 500mx1km where 1μSv/h is common on the ground.) What is it? The measurement shown in the video in Hirai is also not so high; many paved surfaces with no apparent dust measure over 1μSv/h in Hirai and other areas of Edogawa and Katsushika-ku. Even the surfaces of benches in parks are also over 1μSv/h at spots.
Better to use scintillator and mesure spectrum. If you cannot get or make one, you can probably find some one in Tokyo to test this…
