Unless he was hospitalized for radiation burns attempting to stop the catastrophe (rather than flee), why do i get the sense that this man deserves not a Golden Parachute, but a Golden Shower instead?
Some experts are saying that millions of cancers will result from Fukushima. Many will eventually die. Why would any company, even an oil company, want an outside director who led his past company into the world’s worst industrial accident ever, an event that will kill hundreds of thousands and shorten the lives of millions? Fuji Oil’s other directors are being irresponsible to hire this guy, and they should be held accountable should Shimizu’s “leadership” cause or fail to prevent any sort of accident there. This guy deserves a prison cell, not a seat in a boardroom.
It’s shush money.
