In addition to the Plutonium news, Tepco admitted that they detected Strontium-89 and 90.
These flew even further than Plutonium.
Strontium-89 was found even in the major locations of 79km area.
In Namie machi,they measured 22,000 Bq/m2.
Strontium-90 was found in 79km area too.
In Futaba machi,they measured 5,700 Bq/m2.
Strontium causes Leukemia etc..
Strontium-90 is a “bone seeker” that exhibits biochemical behavior similar to calcium, the next lighter Group 2 element. After entering the organism, most often by ingestion with contaminated food or water, about 70–80% of the dose gets excreted. Virtually all remaining strontium-90 is deposited in bones and bone marrow, with the remaining 1% remaining in blood and soft tissues. Its presence in bones can cause bone cancer, cancer of nearby tissues, and leukemia. Exposure to 90Sr can be tested by a bioassay, most commonly by urinalysis. (SOURCE)

Strontium, dont it decays to Plutonium, and thats in a matter of weeks. The strontium is highly toksic.
September 30, 2011 Otsu-City, Shiga Prefecture, not far from Kyoto, Japan …
Even with the 500-kilometer-distance from Fukushima, one concerned university professor in September 2011 near Kyoto is measuring ground radiation where he lives in Otsu-City, Shiga Prefecture, at around .4 microsieverts/hour.
That is at least ten times higher than the 0.03 microsieverts/hour background level the Japanese government asserts.
