The citizens’ radiation laboratory CRMS (Citizen’s Radioactivity Measuring Station) also measured significantly high level of Cs-134/137 from the soil in front of the swings for children in Fukushima city.

The sample was not drought. The reading may be higher in dry soil.

 

Sampling date : 5/3/2013

Cs-134 : 9,237 Bq/Kg

Cs-137 : 17,809 Bq/Kg

Total : 27,046 Bq/Kg

Atmospheric dose : 1.17 μSv/h (1m above the ground), 2.35 μSv/h (on the ground)

Actually, nothing has progressed in the plant since 2011. We still don't even know what is going on inside. They must keep cooling the crippled reactors by water, but additionally groundwater keeps flowing into the reactor buildings from the broken parts. This is why highly contaminated water is always produced more than it can circulate. Tepco is planning to officially discharge this water to the Pacific but Tritium is still remaining in it. They dilute this with seawater so that it is legally safe, but scientifically the same amount of radioactive tritium is contained. They say it is safe to discharge, but none of them have drunk it.
