M4.9 hit Kanto region again / Maximum seismic intensity 4

 

M4.9 hit Kanto region at 8:35 AM on 5/13/2014 (JST).

The epicenter was North West part of Chiba prefecture. The depth was 80km.

However the maximum seismic intensity was observed in Saitama as 4. It was supposed to be 3 in Tokyo.

 

On 5/5/2014, M6.2 hit Kanto region too. Large scale earthquake is frequently occurring in Kanto region.

Un séisme M4,9 a frappé la région de Kanto à 08:35 le 13 mai 2014 (JST).
L’épicentre était au Nord-Ouest de la préfecture de Chiba. Sa profondeur a été de 80 km.
Néanmoins, son intensité sismique maximale de 4 a été observée à Saitama. Elle était supposée être de 3 dans Tokyo.

Le 5 mai 2014, un M6,2 avait aussi frappé dans la région de Kanto. Des séismes de grande échelle frappent souvent la région de Kanto.

Actually, nothing has progressed in the plant since 2011. We still don't even know what is going on inside. They must keep cooling the crippled reactors by water, but additionally groundwater keeps flowing into the reactor buildings from the broken parts. This is why highly contaminated water is always produced more than it can circulate. Tepco is planning to officially discharge this water to the Pacific but Tritium is still remaining in it. They dilute this with seawater so that it is legally safe, but scientifically the same amount of radioactive tritium is contained. They say it is safe to discharge, but none of them have drunk it.
