“Like a garbage house” / Tepco’s spokesman “Storage cabinet is too messed to track the past samples”

The storage cabinet of contaminated water samples is not properly managed, remains like a “garbage house”, Tepco’s spokesman talked on 4/11/2014.

 

Regarding 300 m3 leakage of contaminated water, Tepco revised the radioactive density from 80 billion Bq/m3 to 280 billion Bq/m3 on 4/11/2014.

From their report submitted to NRA (Nuclear Regulation Authority), they have already “abandoned” the actual sample, so calculated the density based on their correction model. It therefore is not known how much the actual density was.

 

Regarding the reason why the sample was abandoned, Tepco’s spokesman said, every sample is supposed to be stocked for 3 months. However the storage cabinet is not organized as it should be, it is being like a “garbage house”.

Among the disorganized samples, the workers must look for the right sample just based on the label put on the case. They don’t know why the issued sample of 280 billion Bq/m3 was abandoned either.

 

Tepco is not even able to organize the contaminated water samples, but they are believed to be able to operate the decommissioning site of Fukushima.

L’armoire de stockage des échantillons d’eau extrêmement radioactive n’est pas gérée correctement, elle ressemble à une “baraque à ordures” a déclaré le porte-parole de Tepco ce 11 avril 2014.

Concernant la fuite des 300 m³, ce 11 avril 2014, Tepco rectifie sa radioactivité en la passant de 80 à 280 milliards de Bq/m³.
Selon le rapport qu’ils ont remis à la NRA (Nuclear Regulation Authority), ils ont déjà “abandonné” l’échantillon d’origine, donc ont re-calculé la radioactivité en se basant sur leur seul modèle de correction. On ne sait donc pas quelle a été la radioactivité réelle.

Concernant la raison pour laquelle l’échantillon a été abandonné, le porte-parole de Tepco a déclaré que le moindre échantillon est supposé être stocké 3 mois. Néanmoins, l’armoire de stockage n’est pas organisée comme elle le devrait, ça ressemble à une “baraque à ordures”.
Dans cette masse d’échantillons sans organisation, les travailleurs doivent rechercher le bon uniquement à partir des étiquettes des boîtes. Ils ne savent pas non plus pourquoi l’échantillon des 280 milliards de Bq/m³ en question a été abandonné.

Tepco est supposé être capable de réaliser le démantèlement de tout le site de Fukushima alors qu’ils ne sont même pas capables d’organiser de simples échantillons d’eau extrêmement radioactive.

Le minimiser au début et ajouter tranquillement de nouvelles information pour que personne ne le remarque. Tout pour que le troupeau ne s’échappe pas. C’est leur stratégie.

Actually, nothing has progressed in the plant since 2011. We still don't even know what is going on inside. They must keep cooling the crippled reactors by water, but additionally groundwater keeps flowing into the reactor buildings from the broken parts. This is why highly contaminated water is always produced more than it can circulate. Tepco is planning to officially discharge this water to the Pacific but Tritium is still remaining in it. They dilute this with seawater so that it is legally safe, but scientifically the same amount of radioactive tritium is contained. They say it is safe to discharge, but none of them have drunk it.
