[Mystery] Unidentified object looking like a nut found in spent fuel pool of reactor6

On 5/23/2013, a Tepco employee found an unidentified object in the east-side of spent fuel pool of reactor6.

It was collected on 5/28/2013, however it’s not announced where it came from.

Tepco reported as below,

– Since May 20, inspection of the spent fuel rack installed in Unit 6 spent fuel pool has been started.
– At around 3:10 PM on May 23, a TEPCO employee, who was conducting inspection of a spent
fuel rack at the Unit 6 spent fuel pool, found a foreign object (something like an eye nut*) at the
east-side bottom of the spent fuel pool while checking a video tape having the rack inspection
recorded.
– At 4:50 PM on May 28, the foreign object (one eye nut) was collected.

[Mystère] Un objet non-identifié en forme de goupille dans la SFP6

 

Le 23 mai 2013, un employé de Tepco a découvert un objet non-identifié sur le côté est de la piscine à combustibles usagés du réacteur 6 (SFP6).

Il a été ramassé le 28 mai 2013, on ne sait pas d’où ça sort.

Tepco le rapporte ainsi :

– L’inspection des casiers à combustibles usagés la piscine à combustibles usagés de l’unité 6 a commencé depuis le 20 mai.
– Le 23 mai vers environ 15:10, un employé de TEPCO qui effectuait une inspection d’un casier de la piscine à combustibles usagés de l’unité 6 a trouvé un objet étranger (quelque chose comme une goupille*) au fond du côté est de la piscine pendant qu’il inspectait une vidéo de l’inspection du casier.
– Le 28 mai à  16:50, l’objet étranger (une goupille) a été ramassé.

Actually, nothing has progressed in the plant since 2011. We still don't even know what is going on inside. They must keep cooling the crippled reactors by water, but additionally groundwater keeps flowing into the reactor buildings from the broken parts. This is why highly contaminated water is always produced more than it can circulate. Tepco is planning to officially discharge this water to the Pacific but Tritium is still remaining in it. They dilute this with seawater so that it is legally safe, but scientifically the same amount of radioactive tritium is contained. They say it is safe to discharge, but none of them have drunk it.
