Cs-134/137 from pool bottom sediment of 9 of 9 elementary school in Chiba, max as 796 Bq/Kg

According to Shiroi city municipal government in Chiba, they detected Cs-134/137 from swimming pool in 9 of 9 elementary schools.

The samples are the bottom sediment. Sampling dates are 5/13/2013.

The highest reading was 796 Bq/Kg (Cs-134 : 258 Bq/Kg, Cs-137 : 538 Bq/Kg), which is nearly 8 times much as food safety limit.

Shiroi city is in 193 km South West from Fukushima nuclear plant.

They report they are going to have parents clean the pool as well.

Selon la municipalité de Shiroi de la préfecture de Chiba, ils ont relevé du Cs-134/137 dans les sédiments des 9 sur 9 piscines d’écoles élémentaires testées.

Les échantillons sont les boues du fond des piscines. l’échantillonnage date du 13 mai 2013.
Le record est de 796 Bq/kg (Cs 134 : 258 Bq/kg, Cs 137 : 538 Bq/kg), ce qui représente 8 fois la limite de sécurité alimentaire.
La commune de Shiroi est à 193 km au sud-ouest de la centrale nucléaire de Fukushima.
Ils rapportent aussi que les parents vont aider à nettoyer les piscines.

They must keep cooling the crippled reactors by water, but additionally groundwater keeps flowing into the reactor buildings from the broken parts. This is why highly contaminated water is always produced more than it can circulate. Tepco is planning to officially discharge this water to the Pacific but Tritium is still remaining in it. They dilute this with seawater so that it is legally safe, but scientifically the same amount of radioactive tritium is contained. They say it is safe to discharge, but none of them have drunk it.
