(Chinese media) "May contaminated water affect neighboring countries?" → (Tepco) "We don't know"

In the press conference of 8/23/2013, Tepco stated that they can’t make a comment about how the contaminated water leakage affect neighboring countries.

This was the answer for the question of China Central Television. They mentioned Soma city fishery cooperative having given up the test fishing due to the marine contaminated. They asked Tepco’s spokesman about the possibility that the contaminated water leakage causes the same situation to the neighboring countries such as China, South Korea etc..

(Chinese media) "May contaminated water affect neighboring countries?" → (Tepco) "We don't know"

  1. Of course they know, they dont want to say anything..specially for China. That would be humilliating for Japan and Japanese are very proud. All the fuzz about the water going to the Pacific. What about the aquifier?? Thats more trouble on the short term i think. Isnt the site above a big and important aquifier? Did the fuel reach there? How long till it does? That aquifier water goes to where and for what use??

I saw a video on LiveLeak.com that showed a Japanese man from the afected prefecture buying a piece of packaged meat on the market. At home he measured the package and the beef and it was all radioactive. So if products that are industrialized and sold are radioactive, what to say about the tap water that comes from the pipes and you dont even know from where.

Now the Pacific, am i wrong or more than 2/3 of Nori production is made on Japan and Korea coasts? Because if thats is correct im not going to eat Nori anymore. Its being bathed in radioactivity and acummulating it on its tissues and metabolism. Crazy. People never told me there is fish on Yakissoba sauce and im veggie. What to say about invisible radiation !!

    1. I don’t believe every body speak about what we can eat from the Ocean but anyone doesn’t speak about how effect the marine life. What will happening with the animals (fishes and mammals) who lives in the ocean?
When the Ocean life will be sick because of radiation that much more bigger problem because our life is depend on the ocean……..
      (the ocean produce 80% oxygen)

  2. this is way off topic but…

was in shock yesterday the famous Jpop singer Utada Hikaru’s mother apparently commited suicide by jumping from a 13th floor apartment balcony in Shinjuku. turns out she was some kind of eccentric singer who liked to pride herself as the ‘dark-star’ of the Showa-era but im assuming she became jealous of her very own daughter’s success as you know how that goes.. so she even hid herself from Hikaru & managed that for some odd 10 years while Hikaru frantically searched for her mother all those years.. its a pathetic hopeless tragedy beyond scale.. shows what Fame does to you huh? Michael Jackson perhaps being the King of that pyramid.. thats a looong fall down. turns out Hikaru went to the same highschool as myself too.. few other classmates became Jpop idols making the top charts as well. the mother was apparently living with some man in his 30s but he denies any romantic involvement.. he was sleeping in another room at that same apt at the time as the incident occurred some time before 7AM 8/22.

hes not identified but i try to put myself in his shoes cuz im prolly the same age or at least generation as him so.. the thought of taking in some insanely famous singer’s mother who is in media hiding then wake up the next morning next to a bloody curb.. motive still unclear & a will or suicide note has not been discovered but the media was very quick to dispose of her as suicide, tho i do think there is small room for a potential homicide. the fact is the media rather branded her as some insane hag. poor woman tho.. had it all made it all & lost it all over what? maybe she felt remorse over her hometown of Iwate, perhaps the closest prefecture the the epicenter of the Great Tohoku Quake. perhaps all this radioactive news leaking out was too much for someone so neurotic & mistrusting as herself.. this is clearly the first domino to fall.

anyhow back on topic to followup the above comment id like to repost these links about some unidentified man in Hitachi, Ibaraki pref who was perhaps the very first to remind us that even within a year, Cesium poisoning can be lethal. we found out half a year later he perished to the toxins & may his soul RIP.

[It happens] 0.60~0.80 μSv/h measured from a man in Ibaraki directly on his body

(cut & paste link above as we all know the active link issues, tho iorisan is gettin more prompt at processing moderated posts.. to those new to the site your comments will be put in a temporary moderation if u include an active link. so i cut off the header & make them dry links.. anyhow please reopen these as theres a Youtube video of this anonymous man, later identified as Mr. Morita. just had a Karate Kid moment…. just verified the video it seems to have been edited so it starts off like its been censored or deleted but it will start past 10secs)

High level of radiation was measured from a man in Hitachi city Ibaraki, where is 100km from Fukushima plant.

He’s been living in Hitachi city Ibaraki for 10 years. He was outside all day when reactors exploded.
After reactor3 exploded on 3/14/2011, he had body ache, diarrhea, vomit, and nosebleed for 1 ~ 2 weeks.
He eats local vegetables and drinks tapwater.

    Measurement : 4/4/2013
    Location : Hitachi city Ibaraki
    Back ground : 0.13 μSv/h
    On clothes : 0.50 μSv/h ~ 0.60 μSv/h
    On body : 0.60 μSv/h ~ 0.80 μSv/h
    Tapwater he brought : 0.25 μSv/h (Cs-137 was detected)

The highly exposed man in Ibaraki died

On 4/4/2013, Fukushima Diary reported “0.60~0.80 μSv/h measured from a man in Ibaraki directly on his body [URL]”

This man, Mr. Morita died last week. The reason is not announced.

His family member told that to the researcher. The researcher tells this kind of the thing is frequently seen in North part of Ibaraki prefecture.

    ——————————————————————————————————————————————————

the irony here is that Hitachi-mura is obviously the hometown of the famous electric supplies maker, & not only that but Hitachi Co is an accomplice in making some of the Fukushima Daiichi reactors.

just processed this on a online counter :

The Distance between Hitachi (Ibaraki) and Tokyo (Tokyo) is : 129.32 kilometers (km). The approximately estimated travel/road distance can be around 148.72 km to 161.65 km. In Other Units: 80.36 miles.

so we live in today.. everything at the touch of a fingertip, yet we want more.. until we attain the Midas Touch of Doom.

About this site

This website updates the latest news about the Fukushima nuclear plant and also archives the past news from 2011. Because it's always updated and added live, articles, categories and the tags are not necessarily fitted in the latest format.
I am the writer of this website. About page remains in 2014. This is because my memory about 311 was clearer than now, 2023, and I think it can have a historical value. Now I'm living in Romania with 3 cats as an independent data scientist.
Actually, nothing has progressed in the plant since 2011. We still don't even know what is going on inside. They must keep cooling the crippled reactors by water, but additionally groundwater keeps flowing into the reactor buildings from the broken parts. This is why highly contaminated water is always produced more than it can circulate. Tepco is planning to officially discharge this water to the Pacific but Tritium is still remaining in it. They dilute this with seawater so that it is legally safe, but scientifically the same amount of radioactive tritium is contained. They say it is safe to discharge, but none of them have drunk it.
