[From where ?] 36 giga/m3 of Cs-134/137 detected from water in reactor4 basement floor

According to Tepco, significantly high level of Cs-134/137 were measured from the accumulated water in the basement floor of reactor4 turbine building.

The sample was taken on 6/13/2013. The readings were no less than 77~80% of the accumulated water from reactor3 turbine building basement. The readings are below,

Cs-134 : 12,000,000,000 Bq/m3

Cs-137 : 24,000,000,000 Bq/m3

 

It is assumed that the accumulated water of reactor3 contains the coolant water directly leaking from the crippled vessel.

However, there was no fuel in reactor4 supposedly, and SFP must have the circulating coolant system. Theoretically the accumulated water in reactor4 turbine building basement is only from the ground water flowing into the building.

The Cs-134/Cs-137 ratio is slightly higher than reactor3.

Reactor4 : 50%

Reactor3 : 48%

There is no explanation about these readings.

Fukushima Diary plans to research Svalbard as a temporary / permanent shelter. It will be in one month from now but there is least budget now. The planned term is 2 weeks. The estimate is 5,000 €. It would be a great help if you consider supporting it.

Selon Tepco, des niveaux graves de césium 134/137 ont été relevés dans les eaux accumulées au rez-de-chaussée du bâtiment de la turbine du réacteur 4.

L’échantillon est du 13 juin 2013. Les relevés n’étaient pas inférieurs à 77~80 % des eaux accumulées au rez-de-chaussée du bâtiment de la turbine du réacteur 3. Les relevés sont :
Cs 134 : 12 000 000 000 Bq/m³ (12 milliards)
Cs 137 : 24 000 000 000 Bq/m³ (24 milliards)

On suppose que les eaux accumulées dans le réacteur 3 contiennent de l’eau de refroidissement ayant directement fuit de l’enceinte abimée.

Or, il n’y avait soi-disant pas de combustible dans le réacteur 4 et le système de refroidissement devait être détourné sur la SFP4 (= piscine des combustibles usagés). Théoriquement, les eaux accumulées au rez-de-chaussée du bâtiment de la turbine du réacteur 4 provient uniquement des infiltrations des eaux souterraines.

La proportion Cs 134 / Cs 137 y est plus forte que dans le réacteur 3 :
Réacteur 4 : 50%
Réacteur 3 : 48%
Il n’y a aucune explication à ces relevés.

I am the writer of this website. About page remains in 2014. This is because my memory about 311 was clearer than now, 2023, and I think it can have a historical value. Now I'm living in Romania with 3 cats as an independent data scientist.
Actually, nothing has progressed in the plant since 2011. We still don't even know what is going on inside. They must keep cooling the crippled reactors by water, but additionally groundwater keeps flowing into the reactor buildings from the broken parts. This is why highly contaminated water is always produced more than it can circulate. Tepco is planning to officially discharge this water to the Pacific but Tritium is still remaining in it. They dilute this with seawater so that it is legally safe, but scientifically the same amount of radioactive tritium is contained. They say it is safe to discharge, but none of them have drunk it.
