Average tumor size of Fukushima children in 2012 bigger than 2011 by 28%

According to Fukushima prefectural government, the average tumor size was bigger by 28% in 2012 than 2011.

In 2011, 12 malignant or possibly malignant cases were found (One of them turned out to be benign nodule from surgery.). The average diameter of the tumor was approximately 14.1 mm.

In 2012, 16 malignant or possibly malignant cases were found. The average diameter of the tumor was approximately 18.1 mm, which is bigger than 2011 by 28%.


The minimum and maximum diameter of tumors are also larger in 2012.

2011 : Min 6.0 mm, Max 33.0 mm

2012 : Min 8.4 mm, Max 34.1 mm


Because Fukushima prefectural government doesn’t announce when the diameter of tumors were measured, it can’t be clear that the tumors grew up since 2011. However, the average, maximum and minimum diameter of the tumors are all larger in 2012 than in 2011.

Selon la préfecture de Fukushima, en 2012 la taille moyenne des tumeurs  a augmenté de 28 % par rapport à 2011.

En 2011, 12 tumeurs malignes ou probablement malignes avaient été découvertes (L’un d’eux s’est révélé être bénin à l’opération). Le diamètre moyen des tumeurs était d’environ 14.1 mm.
EIn 2012, 16 tumeurs malignes ou probablement malignes avaient été découvertes. Le diamètre moyen des tumeurs était d’environ 18.1 mm, ce qui est plus gros de 28% qu’en 2011.

Les diamètres minimum et maximum des tumeurs sont aussi plus grands en 2012.

They must keep cooling the crippled reactors by water, but additionally groundwater keeps flowing into the reactor buildings from the broken parts. This is why highly contaminated water is always produced more than it can circulate. Tepco is planning to officially discharge this water to the Pacific but Tritium is still remaining in it. They dilute this with seawater so that it is legally safe, but scientifically the same amount of radioactive tritium is contained. They say it is safe to discharge, but none of them have drunk it.
