[11months concealment] Sr-90 measured from children's food in Fukushima, Fukushima gov "not dangerous level"

On 5/9/2013, Fukushima prefectural government announced the radiation data of daily food in Fukushima.

As a result, Sr-90 was measured from 3 of 78 samples. The details are below,

0.016 Bq/Kg, food for 1~12 years old child, north part of Fukushima prefecture

0.034 Bq/Kg, food for over 13 years old person, north part of Fukushima prefecture

0.026 Bq/Kg, food for 1~12 years old child, central part of Fukushima prefecture

As to this monitoring data, Fukushima prefecture states it’s within the range of past 10 years. (0.125 Bq/Kg in 2001, somewhere in Japan)

The samples are “the same” food as 3 meals, snacks, drink and other food that the testee consumed. It’s not announced if it’s the same origin or the same maker, or merely the same sort of food.

The sampling dates were 6/19 ~ 6/28/2012. They haven’t published the data for 11 months.

[11months concealment] Sr-90 measured from children's food in Fukushima, Fukushima gov "not dangerous level"

About this site

This website updates the latest news about the Fukushima nuclear plant and also archives the past news from 2011. Because it's always updated and added live, articles, categories and the tags are not necessarily fitted in the latest format.
I am the writer of this website. About page remains in 2014. This is because my memory about 311 was clearer than now, 2023, and I think it can have a historical value. Now I'm living in Romania with 3 cats as an independent data scientist.
Actually, nothing has progressed in the plant since 2011. We still don't even know what is going on inside. They must keep cooling the crippled reactors by water, but additionally groundwater keeps flowing into the reactor buildings from the broken parts. This is why highly contaminated water is always produced more than it can circulate. Tepco is planning to officially discharge this water to the Pacific but Tritium is still remaining in it. They dilute this with seawater so that it is legally safe, but scientifically the same amount of radioactive tritium is contained. They say it is safe to discharge, but none of them have drunk it.
