Kitakyushu city started incineration of disaster debris as of 9/17/2012. (cf. Atmospheric dose is high in Fukuoka prefecture)
The debris is from Ishinomaki city, Miyagi. They are going to incinerate 110 tones of debris a day at 3 incineration plants. They are to process 62,500 tones of debris by 3.2014 at maximum.
However, people are still protesting against it for the risk of radiation contamination.
Kitakyushu government thus started internet censorship. Mainichi newspaper reported like this below,

I know older news but worth repeating
why not take the waste to the evac zone
no mans land
the plan must be to get you to live there again
I can see that happening very soon
In the mean time
out of spite they burn it and send it to you
Believe it or not, local municipal utilities are investigating incineration in the Fraser Valley, in BC, canada (an ‘endangered’ airshed). Currently, a large armada of trucks commute to Cache Creek for disposal.
Among the types to be incinerated including medical waste, is to be “other material”.
I too am opposed to incineration. I would that it didn’t occur on either coast. Smog fairly thick lately, like smoke. Hard to breath. Many people having trouble sleeping. Almost surreal that this started that night long ago that i saw the tsunami. This “slow-motion-train-wreck” hasn’t even begun to slow down, it seems at times.
My apologies, i meant to say “that night long ago that i saw the tsunami on TV”.
i dont understand burning it,, do people burn poison ivy , no why, because it can irritate and kill you if you breath in, why THE PHUCK IN THE WORLD WOULD YOU BURN RADIOACTIVE MATERIAL IS BEYOND ME!!!!!!
