I reject the international mass media to read this site without taking a contact with me.I know some of the mass media corporations read Fukushima Diary to understand the trend so they know when to report about Fukushima as if they were independently following it for a long time.
In short, they make you individual readers pay for this site while they pay nothing, and when they publish the “authorized news”, you pay for the “secondhand news”, which is nothing new for us.
This site is free for the individual readers, but not for corporations. In the world, this site is nearly the only source about Fukushima. I came here alone without any supporting organizations, background or anything. I’m not pleased to be exploited by the corporations that didn’t even properly report about Fukushima when 311 took place.

I demand them to take a contact with me BEFORE reading this site whatever the purpose is.

  1. Reducing global energy requirements, costs, carbon footprint, and system disaster failures by 50%.

Honshu Island Japan, has experienced the worst nuclear disaster in human history, coupled with record earthquake, tsunami and multiple typhoon hits. These sequential disasters clearly display serious global energy conversion design flaws. Various pseudo-scientific distortions promulgated by ‘Team Nuke’ have perpetuated these global energy conversion system design flaws.

Civilian Nuclear Power Plant energy conversion efficiency is about 1/3. Site energy conversion efficiency, with waste heat recovery, can double that efficiency.

Nuclear Power electrical generation costs are not competitive with fossil fuels.

Nuclear fallout costs from the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station may total to $5T. Japan is in the inconsistent position of seeking international assistance, while failing to COLLECT from the architects of this disaster. The architects of this nuclear disaster include, but are not limited to: General Electric, AREVA, Siemens, Toshiba, Hitachi and civilian nuclear power plant financial backers.

Nuclear power stations are vulnerable to terrorist strikes, military attack and natural disasters.

Electrical Grid availability/reliability declines to nearly 0% during most large scale disasters. Loss of electricity following 311 reduced the disaster ‘shelter in place’ effectiveness throughout Japan, greatly increasing the adverse health effects from nuclear fallout.

On site, distributed energy conversion using natural gas, with LNG backup, are more efficient, cost effective and reliable in large-scale disasters. Natural gas, as well as LNG, availability and cost projections for the next century, and beyond, are excellent.

Japanese strengths, including manufactured product efficiency and reliability, can ECONOMICALLY transform the global energy usage for Planet Earth. An array of natural gas powered HVAC equipment, automobiles and distributed electrical generation products will substantially BOOST Japanese exports to the USA, South America, Africa, Middle East, Near East, Europe and elsewhere.

    Sincerely,

    Bill Duff

    1. It would be advisable to prepare for “the big one” as if it could happen tomorrow.
Note that on bedrock, an earthquake can “feel” two degrees of magnitude lower. If you live in an alluvial plain, plan to move to higher ground.

  2. “On site, distributed energy conversion using natural gas, with LNG backup, are more efficient, cost effective and reliable in large-scale disasters. Natural gas, as well as LNG, availability and cost projections for the next century, and beyond, are excellent.”

    NO WAY “NATURAL GAS”!

I think we need to “Occupy RFK, Jr. in White Plains.” At this time, I don’t mean for masses of people to invade RFK’s physical space as been done everywhere in the past year. Maybe later. I mean we need to inundate Bobby’s office with phone calls and emails telling him, “NO FRACKING WAY!”

  3. Knock, Knock, ? Hello there is anybody there? I thought that this was such a critical time there in unit 4 sfp?
I, and i am sure many others Would really like your perspective on situation. Please chime in at your convenience.
    Best Regards

Facts about Svalbard, according to the Norwegian Polar Institute … http www npolar no/ (en/the-arctic/svalbard/)

The archipelago of Svalbard comprises of Spitsbergen, Nordaustlandet, Barentsøya, Edgeøya, Kong Karls Land, Hopen, Prins Karls Forland, Bjørnøya and all the other islands, rocks and shears between 74° and 81° northern latitude and 10° and 35° eastern longitude. The land mass is about 61 020 square kilometers. The sea area around the islands out to the territorial border of 12 nautical miles is about 90 700 square kilometers.

As much as 60 percent of the landmass is covered in ice, and less than ten percent has any vegetation.

The Svalbard Treaty, which was signed in Paris on 9 February 1920, granted Norway full and absolute sovereignty over Svalbard. The Treaty of Svalbard became effective on 14 August 1925, and according to the Act of 17 July 1925, Svalbard is part of the Kingdom of Norway. Citizens from signatory countries to the Treaty, (including USA, Japan, British Commonwealth, Russia) have the same rights as Norwegian citizens to engage in industry, mining, fishing, hunting and other maritime and commercial activities. The Treaty stipulates that the taxes that are collected in Svalbard are to be used in the archipelago. Military activities are not permitted. Treaty disputes and interpretations vary between 4 Nautical Miles and 200 Nautical Miles offshore.

About this site

This website updates the latest news about the Fukushima nuclear plant and also archives the past news from 2011. Because it's always updated and added live, articles, categories and the tags are not necessarily fitted in the latest format.
I am the writer of this website. About page remains in 2014. This is because my memory about 311 was clearer than now, 2023, and I think it can have a historical value. Now I'm living in Romania with 3 cats as an independent data scientist.
Actually, nothing has progressed in the plant since 2011. We still don't even know what is going on inside. They must keep cooling the crippled reactors by water, but additionally groundwater keeps flowing into the reactor buildings from the broken parts. This is why highly contaminated water is always produced more than it can circulate. Tepco is planning to officially discharge this water to the Pacific but Tritium is still remaining in it. They dilute this with seawater so that it is legally safe, but scientifically the same amount of radioactive tritium is contained. They say it is safe to discharge, but none of them have drunk it.
