[Dust alarm] High level of Cs-134/137 detected / Still under mask wearing order

By the dust sampling analysis from 9:50 to 10:10 (20 mins), Tepco detected high level of Cesium-134/137.

Cs-134 : 2.6 × 10^2 Bq/m3

Cs-137 : 5.8 × 10^2 Bq/m3


The alarm goes off when it measures 1 × 10^2 Bq/m3. These readings show the significant increase of Cs level in the dust.

The reason is not verified yet.

According to Tepco, two dust monitoring alarms went off around 9:30AM of 8/19/2013.

Tepco is still giving the order to wear the protective masks in the plant area.

Selon l’analyse d’échantillon prise entre 09:50 et 10:10 (20 mn), Tepco a relevé une forte radioactivité en césium-134/137 :
Cs-134 : 260 Bq/m³
Cs-137 : 580 Bq/m³

L’alarme se déclenche dès que ça dépasse 100 Bq/m³. Ces relevés montrent une augmentation importante du césium dans les poussières.
La raison n’en est pas encore établie.
Selon Tepco, deux alarmes poussières se sont déclenchées le 19 août 2013 vers 09:30.
Tepco maintient sa consigne de port obligatoire du masque  de protection dans toute la centrale.

Actually, nothing has progressed in the plant since 2011. We still don't even know what is going on inside. They must keep cooling the crippled reactors by water, but additionally groundwater keeps flowing into the reactor buildings from the broken parts. This is why highly contaminated water is always produced more than it can circulate. Tepco is planning to officially discharge this water to the Pacific but Tritium is still remaining in it. They dilute this with seawater so that it is legally safe, but scientifically the same amount of radioactive tritium is contained. They say it is safe to discharge, but none of them have drunk it.
