Finance of Tepco got into the black first time in these 3 years thanks to the increase of power bill

Note : If you are from the international mass media, Don’t read this site before taking a contact with me.

In the second quarter of 2013, Tepco got into the black with 142 billion yen of ordinary profit. They have been having deficit for 3 years.

In the same term of last year, the deficit was 166 billion yen.

It is due to the increase of the power rates for households from September 2012. It increased the electricity sales by 11.2 % (approx. 3 trillion yen) in this term.

I reject the international mass media to read this site without taking a contact with me.I know some of the mass media corporations read Fukushima Diary to understand the trend so they know when to report about Fukushima as if they were independently following it for a long time.
In short, they make you individual readers pay for this site while they pay nothing, and when they publish the “authorized news”, you pay for the “secondhand news”, which is nothing new for us.
This site is free for the individual readers, but not for corporations. In the world, this site is nearly the only source about Fukushima. I came here alone without any supporting organizations, background or anything. I’m not pleased to be exploited by the corporations that didn’t even properly report about Fukushima when 311 took place. I demand them to take a contact with me BEFORE reading this site whatever the purpose is.

  1. This TEPCO ‘profit’ fiction is going to cost Japan taxpayers on the order of $500B.

TEPCO exists SOLELY at the pleasure of the Japan Government.

For some inscrutable reason, Japan wishes to PRETEND that the TEPCO management is calling the shots. Perhaps merely for a subsequent dismissal, following some future ‘unacceptable SNAFU/FUBAR’.

The Japan standards for continued TEPCO survival appear to be quite low.

    Sincerely,

    Bill Duff

    1. The TEPCO Disease

TEPCO is a mockery of science, engineering, business and ‘utility’; rather than the embodiment thereof. TEPCO does not conduct any portion of their core business appropriately, or even sanely. It is thus HIGHLY appropriate, that TEPCO is now destitute, orphaned and a ward of the state.

This mockery extends FAR beyond the corporate entity of TEPCO. In fact ‘The TEPCO DISEASE’ has infected all the regional AC electrical grids, on earth. The electrical grid, is a grossly wasteful energy system from power generation to end-user power consumption. Electrical generation stations in general, and nuclear power plants in particularly, are thermodynamic wastrels, rather than good stewards of the common weal. Electrical motors have incorporated few of the advances of the 20th or 21st centuries.

Electrical grid stakeholders do not serve their PRIME MISSION of delivering economic power to their customers. They are nominally ‘utilities’, but they have abandoned the concepts of ‘utility’ and usefulness. These incompetent entities attempt to deceive, rob and rule; rather than serve their customers, prefectures (states, provinces) and nations.

      Sincerely,

      Bill Duff

About this site

This website updates the latest news about the Fukushima nuclear plant and also archives the past news from 2011. Because it's always updated and added live, articles, categories and the tags are not necessarily fitted in the latest format.
I am the writer of this website. About page remains in 2014. This is because my memory about 311 was clearer than now, 2023, and I think it can have a historical value. Now I'm living in Romania with 3 cats as an independent data scientist.
Actually, nothing has progressed in the plant since 2011. We still don't even know what is going on inside. They must keep cooling the crippled reactors by water, but additionally groundwater keeps flowing into the reactor buildings from the broken parts. This is why highly contaminated water is always produced more than it can circulate. Tepco is planning to officially discharge this water to the Pacific but Tritium is still remaining in it. They dilute this with seawater so that it is legally safe, but scientifically the same amount of radioactive tritium is contained. They say it is safe to discharge, but none of them have drunk it.
