Second year disaster related deaths in Fukushima are 14 times much as Miyagi and Iwate

On 5/10/2013, Reconstruction Agency released the data about disaster related deaths. The counted cases are the deaths from the injuries due to 311.

51% of all the death cases are in Fukushima prefecture for some reason. (1,383 among 2,688)

The death cases in Fukushima didn’t decrease until 3/10/2012 unlike other main disaster areas of Miyagi and Iwate. (Graph 1)

In Miyagi and Iwate prefecture, most of the victims passed away from 3/19/2011 to 4/11/2011. On the other hand the death cases kept on increasing until 6/11/2011 in Fukushima, and it remained stably high until 3/10/2012.

Additionally, 129 people passed away even in the second year (3/11/2012~3/10/2013) in Fukushima. In the same term after 311, only 8 people died in Iwate and 9 people died in Miyagi prefecture. In Fukushima, 14~16 times many people died as Iwate and Miyagi. (Graph 2)

Il y a eu 14 fois plus de morts liés à la catastrophe dans Fukushima que dans Miyagi et Iwate

 

Le 10 mai 2013, la Reconstruction Agency publie les données sur les décès liés à la catastrophe. Les cas recensés sont ceux des morts consécutives à des blessures causées par le 11-3.

51 % de tous les décès sont dans la préfecture de Fukushima (1 383 sur 2 688).
Les décès n’ont pas diminué dans Fukushima jusqu’au 10 mars 2012, contrairement aux autres principales régions dévastées de Miyagi et Iwate. (Graphique 1)
Dans les préfectures de Miyagi et Iwate, la plupart des victimes sont mortes entre le 19 mars et le 11 avril 2011. D’un autre côté, le nombre de décès a continué d’augmenter jusqu’au 11 juin 2011 dans Fukushima, puis c’est resté stable jusqu’au 10 mars 2012.
De plus, dans Fukushima 129 personnes sont mortes durant la seconde année (11 mars 2012 ~ 10 mars 2013). A la même période après le 11-3, seulement 8 personnes sont mortes dans la préfecture d’Iwate et 9 dans celle de Miyagi. Dans Fukushima, il y a eu 14 à 16 fois plus de morts que dans Iwate et Miyagi. I am the writer of this website. About page remains in 2014. This is because my memory about 311 was clearer than now, 2023, and I think it can have a historical value. Now I'm living in Romania with 3 cats as an independent data scientist.
Actually, nothing has progressed in the plant since 2011. We still don't even know what is going on inside. They must keep cooling the crippled reactors by water, but additionally groundwater keeps flowing into the reactor buildings from the broken parts. This is why highly contaminated water is always produced more than it can circulate. Tepco is planning to officially discharge this water to the Pacific but Tritium is still remaining in it. They dilute this with seawater so that it is legally safe, but scientifically the same amount of radioactive tritium is contained. They say it is safe to discharge, but none of them have drunk it.
