More than 10% of prefectural staff suffer from mental problem in Miyagi


Low dose exposure is known to affect nerve and cause mental disorder.
In Miyagi prefecture (100km from Fukushima plant), more than 10% of prefectural government staff is showing the symptoms of depression.
Miyagi prefecture calls it “burn-out syndrome” from 311 related work.

Miyagi prefecture conducts health check for 4662 of their staff since last year. (Recovery percentage was 88.2%.) The latest test was conducted from 7/9 to 7/31/2012 to follow the past two tests in June and October of 2011.

The result showed 1.5% (72 people) of staff were mentally affected by 311. It also showed 9.9% (463 people) of staff need to see specialized agency for fatigue and being demotivated.

The group of people who need a care of specialized agency is in the increasing trend though the entire group to be mentally affected by 311 is decreasing.

Health and welfare department of Miyagi prefectural government comments, “Mental health of prefectural staff can be going worse. It can be becoming serious among some of the staff. We need
to take measures to cope with the situation.

Plus de 10% du personnel préfectoral souffre de désordres psychologiques dans la préfecture de Miyagi

L’exposition aux faibles doses est connue pour attaquer le système nerveux et provoquer des désordres psychologiques.
Dans la préfecture de Miyagi (à 100 km de la centrale de Fukushima), plus de 10% du personnel préfectoral présente les symptômes de la dépression.
La préfecture de Miyagi appelle ça le “syndrome de burn-out” à cause du travail imposé par et depuis le 11-3.

La préfecture de Miyagi mène des contrôles de santé sur 4 662 de ses fonctionnaires depuis l’an dernier. (Le pourcentage de rétablissement était de 88,2 %.) Les derniers contrôles ont eu lieu entre le 9 et le 31 juillet  2012 suivant en ceci les deux précédents de juin et octobre 2011.

Les résultats montrent que 1,5 % du personnel (72 personnes) étaient psychologiquement affectés par le 11 mars. Ils ont aussi montré que 9,9 % du personnel (463 personnes) ont besoin de consulter un spécialiste à cause de leur fatigue et de leur démotivation.

La tendance du groupe de gens ayant besoin de soins spécialisés est à l’augmentation bien que la tendance générale de ceux psychologiquement affectés par le 11-3 soit en diminution.

Le service de la Santé et des Affaires Sociales de la préfecture de de Miyagi conclut que “La santé mentale des équipes préfectorales pourrait empirer.  Ce pourrait devenir grave pour certains membres du personnel. Nous devons  prendre des mesures pour pallier à cette situation.”

I am the writer of this website. About page remains in 2014. This is because my memory about 311 was clearer than now, 2023, and I think it can have a historical value. Now I'm living in Romania with 3 cats as an independent data scientist.
Actually, nothing has progressed in the plant since 2011. We still don't even know what is going on inside. They must keep cooling the crippled reactors by water, but additionally groundwater keeps flowing into the reactor buildings from the broken parts. This is why highly contaminated water is always produced more than it can circulate. Tepco is planning to officially discharge this water to the Pacific but Tritium is still remaining in it. They dilute this with seawater so that it is legally safe, but scientifically the same amount of radioactive tritium is contained. They say it is safe to discharge, but none of them have drunk it.
