According to Tepco, radioactive water, Tritium was detected from 2 of 4 seaside observation holes. Having highly contaminated water leaking from 3 reservoirs, Tepco is checking ground water by making wells called observation holes between the reservoirs and the sea. If they detect radiation from those wells, it means the leaking water is penetrating underground. [...]

According to Tepco, radioactive water Tritium was measured outside of most of the reservoirs. Among 7 reservoirs, highly contaminated water is stocked in 5 reservoirs. Tritium was detected from 4 of those 5 reservoirs. The sample is drain hole water. Detecting Tritium from drain hole water means it’s already leaked to outside of the reservoirs. [...]

According to Tepco, they are ready to discharge pumped ground water to the sea. Currently 400 tones of ground water flows to the plant everyday. According to Tepco, high level of β nuclide is measured from the water of sub-drains. The sub-drain water is assumed to flow into the basement floors of the reactors. According to Tepco, tritium and Sr-90 density in sea water picked up last December. The sampling location is about 30m point in north of reactor5 and 6 discharge channel.
