Kitaibaraki city and Hitachi city in Ibaraki restarted test fishing of the young of the sardine on 8/6/2012.
According to the radiation measurement of Ibaraki prefecture, the radiation level was up to 3.4 Bq/Kg.
About dried young sardines, it was up to 24 Bq/kg. Both are below their original safety limit of 50 Bq/Kg.
Fish processing companies will ship the young sardine as of 8/20/2012. They haven’t shipped them from this area since 311.
